What is Unlimited Fibre?


Unlimited Fibre is a new plan with optimized high speed broadband access that
has no bit throttling. It is built on a separate network channel from other Singtel
Fibre plans. As an unmanaged service, Unlimited Fibre does not come with
wireless modem. Instead, customers have the freedom to use their preferred 3rd
party wireless modems/ routers.
What is the difference between the Unlimited Fibre and other Singtel Fibre
plans?
Unlimited Fibre has higher speed performance than other Singtel Fibre plans. It
is developed for users with high demands for bandwidth and comes with no bit
throttling. Users on Unlimited Fibre will have the freedom to use any preferred
3rd party wireless modems/ routers of their choice.
On the other hand, Fibre Home Bundles and Fibre Entertainment Bundles plan
comes with a wireless router that is fully managed and supported by Singtel.
Customers keen on Singtel TV are encouraged to subscribe Fibre Entertainment
Bundle to enjoy greater value and mobile benefits.
What does no bit throttling means?
With no bit throttling, Unlimited Fibre users Bit Torrent or Peer-to-Peer (P2P) file
sharing speed will be dependent on the seed servers performance (e.g. number
of P2P users, server and network connection performance).
On the other hand, Fibre Home Bundles and Fibre Entertainment Bundles has
bit throttling. It comes with an Internet traffic management of Bit Torrent or Peerto-Peer (P2P) file sharing activities. This benefits majority of Internet users
because it ensures ample network bandwidth for all other Internet usage (for e.g.
video streaming, gaming, web surfing.
Will I be eligible for the yearly handset rebate, multi-line discount and
mobile subscription discount with the Unlimited Fibre?
As an Unlimited Fibre customer, you can enjoy 10% off (1) one mobile line
subscription. Mobile line nominated must be under the same subscriber as the
Unlimited Fibre, applicable to Singtel Mobile price plans: Combo Plans,
SuperLite, Lite, Value, Plus, Prestige. The following price plans: SuperSIM
Plans, Silver Plans, Youth Plans, Special Plan, Staff/FOSS/Staff & Family Plans,
Easy Mobile Plans and Corporate Individual Scheme (CIS) are not eligible for
nomination.

I am a new Singtel Broadband subscriber, can I sign up for Unlimited Fibre


+ Singtel TV on Fibre?
You are encouraged to switch to other TV bundled subscription plans such as
Fibre Entertainment Bundle for better value compared to signing up different
standalone plans separately.
Can I sign up for Singtel payable add-on services with the Unlimited
Fibre?
Yes, you can still sign up for our existing add-on services.
Does Unlimited Fibre come with SingNet Email and Store & Share?
No, SingNet Email and Store & Share are not provided with Unlimited Fibre.
What are the charges for wiring from my ONT to other computers/devices?
The wiring service is $80.25 for the first 35m to each computer/device (per data
point). Subsequent block of 5m will be $10.70 per block.

EXISTING SINGTEL CUSTOMERS


I am an existing Singtel Broadband subscriber and I am interested in
signing up for Unlimited Fibre, what will happen to my existing plan and
contract period?
Upon successful installation of the Unlimited Fibre, you can either choose to
continue or terminate your existing plan. Termination charge will be
applicable for you are still in contract.
What will happen to my existing email address, Store & Share ID (if
applicable) if I sign up to the Unlimited Fibre?
SingNet Email and Store & Share are not transferable to Unlimited Fibre. Upon
termination on the existing services, your existing email address, Store & Share
ID will be terminated.

TECHNICAL & INSTALLATION RELATED


What are the upload and download speeds?
Typical upload and download speeds is 800Mpbs, 95% of the time. Speed range
700Mbps 960Mbps.
What is the speed dependent on?
Speeds will be entirely dependent on the constraints of the existing NGN
infrastructure, router, host servers and content providers.
Since Singtel does not provide a wireless router with Unlimited Fibre signup, can I reuse an existing Singtel (issued) wireless router without
compromising the speed? If not, can I purchase a separate routher from
Singtel?
You will not be able to use existing Singtel (issued) wireless router with
Unlimited Fibre. You are recommended to purchase your own preferred 3rd

party wireless routers from other manufacturers or look out for promotion
bundles from Singtel.
If I were to purchase my own wireless router, what are the minimum
specifications?
Minimum router specifications should support 802.11AC Dual band wireless
standard and Gigabit Ethernet ports to enjoy high speed broadband.
Does Unlimited Fibre plan come with installation and technical support?
Yes. Our field engineers will set up your fibre service and perform speed tests to
ensure quality and our 24/7 Technical Helpdesk hotline are ready to assist
Unlimited Fibre customers too. However, 3rd party devices including wireless
modems/ routers are not supported.
Should you prefer installation and technical support on wireless router, we
encourage you to check out Fibre Home Bundles or Fibre Entertainment
Bundles. Wireless Router will be issued with these plans and we will be able to
offer technical assistance on it.
Does Unlimited Fibre support IPv6?
Yes, IPv6 is currently supported via 6rd relay. The 3rd party router needs to
support IPv6rd and also dual stack for future compatibility. You will need to
enable and configure your own routers accordingly.
What is Cat5e LAN cable?
Cat5e (Category 5 Enhanced) is a Gigabit Ethernet cabling standard that
supports up to 1 gigabit broadband speed. There are other standards
available with different performance (e.g. ranging more commonly are Cat 3 to
6). To get the most out of your fibre broadband and able to enjoy higher
access speed, a minimum Cat5e LAN cable is recommended to connect
between the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) and laptops or to the wireless
modem.
