Class description
- 24 first-year students (Ss), Department of English, Nam Dinh Teachers Training
College.

Time: 50 minutes.
III. Teaching objectives
- Language:
+ Widen their knowledge of entertainment topic.
+ Review the way to give, make and respond invitation and suggestion.
- Skills:
+ Listening skills: listening for the main idea (acceptances and refusals)
listening for the detail (time and activities)
+ Speaking skills: making conversation to practice give, make and respond
invitation and suggestion.

Assumed knowledge
- Ss have already known some vocabulary and sentence structures related to the topic.
V.
Anticipated problems
- Ss may have little English vocabulary to express their ideas and make conversations
with their partners.
- Ss might not be confident to speak English.

- A course book Basic tactics for listening.

1. Warm up

- T divides the class into three teams: team A, B


and C (each team has eight members).
- T instructs the rules:
+ T lets three teams make three lines in front of
the board.
+ In two minutes, each member in each team
takes turn to go to the board and write their free
time activities.
+ T checks answers of three teams and find the
best which has the most correct activities.
- T leads to the new lesson.
