The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is the

leading National Professional non-profit making Society for
the Technical Education System in our country with the motto
of Career Development of Teachers and Personality
Development of Students and overall development of our
Technical Education System. At present, ISTE has a very
large and an effective membership base throughout the
country. The major objective of the ISTE is to provide quality
training programmes to teachers and administrators of
technical institutions to update their knowledge and skills in
their fields of activity and to assist and contribute in the
production and development of top quality professional
engineers and technicians needed by the industry and other
organisations.

Applied research is a systematic, rigorous investigation of a

situation or problem in order to generate new knowledge or
validate existing knowledge. It's a process of gathering,
recording and analyzing data for taking appropriate &
meaningful decisions. In order to carry out applied research,
the researchers need to plan the research work based on
appropriate hypotheses and subsequently gather necessary
data, analyze it and make decisions. The analysis and
inference has to be made on the basis of appropriate
statistical techniques. Thus statistical tools play an important
role in diverse fields like engineering, management,
humanities and all allied sciences especially when the
process demands some inferences to be drawn.This
workshop is designed to cater to the needs of research
scholars pursuing research in various engineering fields and
are concerned with teaching, industry and R&D activities. The
entire program is a blend of theory, hands-on sessions and
case studies which will ensure rapid and effective assimilation
of concepts.

About the institute and Department:

Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune, a highly
commendable private institute occupies a place of pride
amongst the premier technical institutes of the western region
of India. Established in the year 1983 and financed and run by
Bansilal Ramnath Agrawal Charitable Trust, it is affiliated to
Savitribai Phule Pune University. The Institute runs 9 under
graduate, 8 post-graduate & 6 Ph.D. programs which are
affiliated to the university. The Institution has been awarded
ISO 9001-2008 certification by BSI, India and granted
autonomous status since academic year 2008-09. The
institute has marched towards the pinnacle of glory through its
remarkable achievements and laurels in the field of
engineering education. The department of Electronics
Engineering which runs UG, PG and Ph. D programs caters to
the ever increasing needs of technical brilliance in all allied
areas of electronics engineering such as microelectronics,
telecommunication, signal processing, embedded systems
and power electronics.
