5. THE NON-BOLTED OPTION IS THE PREFERRED OPTION. USE OF THE BOLTED OPTION MAY REQUIRE THE DRILLING OF
HOLES IN THE BEAM FORM FOR THE INSERTS.
6. ELASTOMERIC SHIMS MAY BE USED BETWEEN THE BOTTOM OF STEM AND TOP OF PLATE ON NON-BOLTED BEARINGS
TO PROPERLY SEAT BEAMS AND ADJUST THE ELEVATION OF THE TOP OF THE BEAM. BOLTED BEARINGS WOULD REQUIRE
THE SHIMS TO BE PLACED ON TOP OF OR BELOW THE BEARING.
