You don't take a photograph, you make it" this
connotes the notion that photographers manipulate the
landscape just as much as a portrait photographer does
when working in the studio We adapt everything
through shutter speed, aperture, film choice and ISO.
This means that we are not capturing a real landscape,
we are creating our desired version of it.

allowing us to appreciate the scenes. and giving us vital
information about what is happening around the main
event the waterfall. This further reinforces his ambition
to dramatis the sheer scale of these landscapes he has
included as much information as technically possible.
Conclude with readdressing the question of what
landscape photography can offer us?

Change your gallery to 6 columns

Careful with your aggressive editing
colour should be used to enhance what is
already there, not create something new

reflective notes at key points to show that

you are constantly analysing your work
and not in autopilot.
No analysis or evaluation of your most
successful outcome due Monday by

Rather unfocussed and your distance

from the objects means that your focus
on the fe is unclear. However, the amount
of photographs you are taking show
determination to succeed and
perseverance. You must challenge
yourself to get into more ambitious
camera angles and keep your editing to a
minimum.
Good general analysis although
somewhat shorter than the rest. Check
you have correctly identified the
comment he is making on human kind
and how we treat the landscape around
us.
Pull 2 more quotes from the video and

Nadav Kander
personal response
35+ images of a
location which
will enable a
similar
abandoned
impression as
Kanders work
scale. Line,
colour and form
is of particular
importance

Although great ideas the location has

made this difficult for you as it does not
allow you to get space and distance from
your scenes. Also, you must pay more
attention to framing make sure your
horizontal lines are perfect and that you
use the same camera angle as he does.
Reshoot to find sparse and
abandoned/empty locations which allow
you to get the same sense of distance to
your subject matter.
Why increase the colour of your images

editing

Good but a bit general explore this

notion of surface more by adding a
paragraph to explain this idea of blocking
a landscape with an obstacle which
creates a new focus are we distracted
by these obstacles? What new focal point
is created?
Good initial edits on Photoshop but no
written analysis or explanation of what
you were doing.
Your refinement shoot is too brief and
repetitive it does not connect with the
notion of a surface ad your obstacle is out
of focus. Yiour landscape is the same in
each image and your camera angle has
nto changed.
Find at least 10 new locations, along with
10 new types of surfaces or obstacles to
photograph. Take a bus journey and
photograph the city through the marks or
smudges on the window make sure the
window is in focus!

The idea for this image is perfect but

unfortunately the execution has let you down it is shaky as the
shutter speed was too slow.

This is a strong image crop it down so that we

see this fframing.
