San Diego, CA, June 17, 2010 -- Today, Symbolic Collection announces the unveili ng of a world-class exhibition of photography by Jonathan Singer to be showcased on July 2, 2010 for the first time on the West Coast at the Symbolic Collection gallery in Sorrento Valley. A New Jersey podiatrist specializing in limb salvage, Singers career took a tur n in 2005 when he was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease and could no longer per form surgery. He turned to an earlier life love of photography that led him to d iscover a new lifes passion. With ambition and a natural talent, Singer introdu ced his work to Marc Hachadourian, the Curator of Glasshouse Collections, New Yo rk Botanical Garden, and shortly after to Dr. W. John Kress, the Curator of Bota ny, National Museum of Natural History, and from there, he became an overnight s ensation acclaimed for marrying art and science using a technique synonymous w ith old world master paintings. Just as the finest classical painter attempted to make his brush stroke invisib le, I attempt to capture these botanical specimens with a clarity and humility b ecoming an instrument serving a higher force, said Singer. Many of the most un usual species seen in Botanica Magnifica seem to be alien life forms but really are true treasures of our home planet.
