EDUCATION SYSTEM IN INDONESIA VS IN OTHER COUNTRY

The education system is derived from two Greek words:

Systema has meaning way of thinking or strategy


Pedagogy which is divided into two words: paid = child and agagos = supervisor

So the education system is a strategy or method that will be used for teaching and learning
process to achieve the goal that students can actively develop the potential in him that is
necessary for himself and society.

SCHOOL EDUCATION SYSTEM


The best school system based on www.quora.com is in Finlandia. Compared with Indonesia,
theres a huge differences between school system in Indonesia and in Finlandia.

In Finlandia, childern can not go to school if their under 7 years old and theres a law that
stated childern in Finlandia must go to school if they 7 years old. They tend to be more

creative because they use their imagination. They learning with playing methode
Students typically start school between 9:00 and 9:45. Theres a state that stating
schools cannot begin before 9:00 am because research has consistently proved that
adolescents need quality sleep in the morning. The school day usually ends by 2:00 or
2:45. They typically have three to four 75 minute classes a day with several breaks in
between (45 minutes study 15 minutes take a rest). This overall system allows both

students and teachers to be well rested and ready to teach/learn.


In Finlandia, became a teacher is more honored than became a doctor or engineer.
Because they believe that the future of their country is depends on how well the teacher
is. All of the teacher in Finlandia is a master (S2). Because of they have a high standard

for the teacher, the education system is really well in there


Theres no examination. The teacher is simply trusted to do a good job and therefore they
have more control over their classroom and its content. The teacher is able to take more
risks and try new things and create exciting, engaging curriculum that allows students to
become skilled individuals ready for the real world. Imagine all of the exciting things you

could do with your students if there wasnt a giant state test looming over your head
every year. That will makes them want to learn without a pressure and make them

comfortable.
Theres no ranking system in Finlandia. They believe that ranking system just make them
separate the good one and the bad one. In Finland, everyone is on the same level. They
believe that everyone can be a smart person.

COLLEGE EDUCATION SYSTEM


In Indonesian college system uses a system of credits (credit semester system).

Understanding 1 credits:
o 50 minutes to learn in class
o 1-2 hours for independent tasks such as learning, deepen the lesson, preparation

tasks, and etc.


o 1-2 hours to task, writing papers, etc.
Usually in order to follow the Final Exam or Middle Semester Exam presence of at least

80%
Assessment system with the given values of A-E in which the range of values may vary

depending on the universities


IP (achievement index) so the higher the value that you can be the more credits you can

take.
Practicum is a practical activity that aims to apply the knowledge you've learned while in

college.

College system in the United States the same as in Indonesia differs only a few things:

1 credits:

o 1 hour to learn in class.


o 1.5 hours are sessions where lecturers will be open free classes where students can

ask the lessons that they have not understood.

Countries in Europe using the system ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation
System) in college.

1 ECTS:
o 1 hour for learning in the classroom, lab, etc.
o 1,5 hours for in preparation for the task, make a paper, and etc.
Different from the credits, when the GPA is good then you can take up to 30 ECTS
Introductory day is a learning time in the classroom.
Home assignment is a task given by the lecturer.
Final day is the time for the Middle Semester Exam and Final Exam

If you want to pass S1 or Bachelor degree on the ECTS system, the student must be able

to complete the minimum of 180 ECTS.


ECTS grading system in contrast to SKS.

The ECTS system seen from the value of the total students in the classroom. When we occupy
10% of best then we will get an A, and so on.
