AISI1018carbonsteelisafreemachininggradethatisthemostcommonlyavailable
gradearoundtheworld.Althoughitsmechanicalpropertiesarenotveryunique,itstillcan
beeasilyformed,machined,weldedandfabricated.

harden.
Annealing
Completeannealingofthisalloycanbeachievedbysoakingat899C(1650F)followed
byfurnacecooling.Processannealingcanbedoneat649C(1200F).
