2.3.1 Able to read simple texts with guidance:

Objectives :
By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to :
(a) Read one simple paragraph and identify at least 5
words with ie and ea sounds.
(b) LINUS pupils able to identify and sound out at
least 4 sounds correctly.
Activities :
1. Pupils volunteer to sound out the words with
ie and ea.
2. Pupils read aloud together.
3. The pupils will play Fruit Salad. For Fruit
Salad, each pupils will receive different word.
One pupil will be chosen as the Chef to start
the game and her place cannot be taken until
the end of the game. The chosen one will
need to say out one word from the word list.
The pupils with that word need say out the
word, stand up and change place with one
another and cannot sit at their own place. The
Chef who say the word need to sit at the
empty place. The pupil who without sit need
to be the Chef for the next round.
4. Pupils read with teacher the text about
Papas Peach Cream Pies.
5. Pupils volunteer to read the text aloud group
by group.
6. In a group of three, the pupils play

receive word with ie, B will receive ea
sound, while C (LINUS) will need to circle the
words with ie and ea sounds.
7. The pupils will read together, A will fill in the
blanks with words with ea and vice versa
with B while C will circle the words.
