opportunity.

> Teach languages and programs such as Scratch, App Inventor, Java,
and HTML/CSS to K-8 students.

Junior in Informatics and Human

Centered Design & Engineering (UX/UI)
(Human-Computer Interaction)

Research Assistant

PROJECTS

(June 2016 - September 2016)

Myndful

Northwest Research Associates

> Worked with a climate scientist on the development of an app that
informs a user where the most solar energy in their area is.
> I developed software using Python that edited images by detecting the
sky vs. not sky. This was fed into the apps algorithm to know where the
horizon in the photo was located.

Identifying Usage Patterns Research

Dubhacks 2016
An app targeted towards those going through
depression or are having a hard time finding
motivation in their lives. Prompts the user with
a different coping skill each day, which allows
them to figure out which coping skills
work best for them. Worked on the UI/visual
design of the app along with two other designers.

(Winter + Spring 2016)

MetroAccess

UW Human-Centered Design & Engineering School

> As part of a research group, I helped develop a survey to find out where
students turn to find free high-quality information on the internet.
> We analyzed the data to find any correlations. After, I created a poster
and presented our findings at the 2016 HCDE Open House.

Smart Cities Design Research

UW Human-Centered Design & Engineering School

(Spring 2016)

> Worked collaboratively in a group of 3 to understand the role of

technology in Smart Cities by conducting a survey about current and
future privacy concerns.
> Created an End-User License Agreement (EULA) for a hypothetical
smart city.

User-Centered Design Research

UW Human-Centered Design & Engineering School

(Winter 2016)

> An HCDE directed research group where we worked in groups to design

and implement a charrette, a quick design activity, as a way to introduce
high school students to the user-centered design (UCD) process.

User Centered Design (HCDE 318)

An app that reduces confusion for Metro
Transit passengers. The app contains an intelligent
assistant named Ava, who can answer Metro-related
inquiries through voice, text, or preset questions.
Worked through the beginning steps of the design
process such as user research, prototyping, and
designing the apps UI.
