Vn Miu Quc T Gim is a complex of culture and architecture that brings to
me a meaningful lesson. I had visited Vn Miu Quc T Gim for three times, which are only cursory inspections. Thus, I understood a little about it. This morning I decided to spend more time learning about the tourist destination. Fortunately, I run into a Canadian group with a tourist guide in there. I followed them and caught what the guide introduced the site. Which widened my knowledge of the place. Vn Miu or Temple of Literature was founded as a Confucian temple in 1070 under Ls dynasty. While, Quc T Gim, Vietnams first university, was constructed in the temple in 1076 to educate sons of the kings and mandarin class. After that it trained civilian students who were talents. Hence, the complex has called Vn Miu Quc T Gim up to now. The complex has a unique architecture. It is divided into five court yards, each with its name: Dai Trung gate, Khue Van Cac pavilion, Thin Quang Tnh Well of Heavenly Clarity, the central area and temple respectively. I was impressed with combination of Khue Van Cac pavilion and Well of Heavenly Clarity. Because the pavilion was designed as the sun while the well had square shape that was symbol of the earth. Both the areas were located together to illustrate Yin- Yan balance. In addition, on two sides of Thin Quang Well, there are 82 doctors stone steles with stone turtles as platforms. In conclusion, the journey to Vn Miu Quc T Gim not only are for fun but also improve my knowledge of Vietnam history, especially the significant features of the site.
