Product description

Product description

In continuous level measurement, the level in a vessel is detected. The

measured value is further processed e.g. as 4 20 mA in a PLC or a
control system.

Individually adjustable decimal point provides high exibility when adjusting the instrument
Reliable function and wide range of application thanks to compact,
rugged housing with high protection rating

On-site indication of the measured value is often desired. To fulll this

need, a wide range of display instruments is available. Indication, power
supply and mounting dier depending on the model. This product information manual provides an overview and helps you select a suitable
instrument.
PLICSCOM
The display and adjustment module PLICSCOM is used for measured
value indication, adjustment and diagnosis of VEGA plics sensors. It is
integrated in the respective sensor housing. After mounting, the sensor as
well as PLICSCOM are splash-proof even without housing cover.
An integrated backlight enables reading even under unfavourable lighting
conditions. As an option, the display can also be equipped with heating
that ensures good readability at low temperatures down to -40 C (-40 F).

VEGADIS 81
The VEGADIS 81 is an external measured value display for VEGA plics
sensors that can also be used for sensor adjustment. It can be mounted at
a distance of up to 50 m from the sensor and is powered directly by the
sensor. Separate external energy is not required. If the sensor is dicult to
access, the VEGADIS 81 can be mounted at an optimised location.

VEGADIS 82
VEGADIS 82 is suitable for measured value indication and adjustment of
standard sensors with HART protocol. The instrument is looped directly
into the 4 20 mA signal line at any location. A separate external power
supply is not required. VEGADIS 82 also operates exclusively as an indicating instrument in a 4 20 mA current loop.
It is particularly suitable for hydrostatic pressure transmitters VEGAWELL
52 and radar sensors VEGAPULS WL 61 4 20 mA/HART. It contains a
breather facility for ventilation of the sensors via the capillary line in the
special cable.

VEGADIS 175
The VEGADIS 175 is a digital indicating instrument without additional
external energy. It is used for separate measured value indication on all
standardized 4 20 mA circuits. Due to the standardized dimensions of
the display, it is generally used as a front panel instrument.
The VEGADIS 175 is looped into the 4 20 mA signal cable at any
position and is suitable for active (four-wire) as well as passive (two-wire)
sensors.

3.1

PLICSCOM

The display and adjustment module PLICSCOM oers the following installation possibilities:
l In the sensor
l In VEGADIS 81

3.2

Tube mounting
The VEGADIS 81 and 82 for tube mounting are supplied with unassembled mounting accessories. It consists of two pairs of mounting brackets and four mounting screws M5 x 12.
The mounting brackets are screwed by the user to the socket of VEGADIS.

VEGADIS 81 and 82

The instruments can be mounted in the following ways:

l Carrier rail 35 x 7.5 according to EN 50022
l Wall mounting
l Tube mounting
Wall mounting
The VEGADIS 81 and 82 are suitable for wall mounting in all available
housing materials.

Front panel mounting

The VEGADIS 82 is also available with a plastic housing for panel mounting. The housing is fastened through the supplied screw clamps on the
rear of the panel.

Carrier rail mounting

The VEGADIS 81 and 82 with plastic housing are suitable for direct carrier
rail mounting.

Carrier rail

The versions with aluminium or stainless steel housing are supplied with
unassembled mounting accessories. The kit consists of an adapter plate
and four mounting screws M5 x 12.
The adapter plate is screwed by the user to the socket of VEGADIS 81 or
82.

The VEGADIS 175 is designed for panel mounting. The housing is fastened via the supplied screw clamps to the rear of the panel.

For the adjustment with PACTware, a VEGACONNECT as well as a

power supply unit are required in addition to the PC and the suitable VEGA
DTM.

Adjustment on VEGADIS 175

Indication and adjustment are carried out on the front via a clear LC display and three keys.

Adjustment on VEGADIS 81 with PACTware

PACTware/DTM
The plics sensors can be adjusted through VEGADIS 81 via PACTware
independent of the respective signal outout. For operation with
PACTware, an instrument driver (DTM) is required for the respective
sensor.
All currently available VEGA DTMs are provided as "DTM Collection and
PACTware" on a data carrier. They are available from the responsible
VEGA agency for a token fee. The standard version of the "DTM Collection and PACTware" is available as a free-of charge download from the
Internet. This standard version includes already the project documentation and storage.
