Rationale:
This lesson is important because it reveals cultural and traditional knowledge
from shared experiences maintained over generations. This lesson relates to
previous and future learning by focusing on literacy. Children may relate the
hard work that goes into the Cowichan Sweater can also be used in another
skill, such as, learning to read and write.
