Teaching Philosophy

Sometimes we do things just because we dont know that

theres something else we might do better, Ive loved the
Idea of being a teacher, not because theres nothing else I
can do better, but because It was what I really felt towards
it, maybe Im not the best teacher -yet- but I guess Im on
the right way, I know my advantages and I can list my
mistakes to you, however I do teach because I love to be
surrounded by Kids, even if its not the nicest thing in the
world teacher obviously know that -, but to me it is,
being able to make them listen to you, follow you, and
learn with you is a great thing ,it is what I always seek,
and what makes me the happiest person sometimes, also
as someone who cares about his people, nation and all
human race, Being a good teacher is like being the sun
which will evaporate Oceans water to bring life on earth,
or being this strong bridge that will transfer good young
fellows to their rightest destination.
I want to be a teacher because I believe that teachers are
the true holders of the high-messages which our ancestors
passed to us, whom built a great civilizations and made
who we are now, I believe that every Child Ive been
teaching has a part of my consciousness and my soul, and
one day hell pass it to some friends or maybe his kids, Im
sure because I remember while my childhood, I was so
certain about anything my teacher would say, and Ill
always go in debate battles with my beloved Mom because
her opinion wasnt the same as my teacher said.
Well, my short term goals if we talked about daily ones
they will be doing an Amazing lesson plans that fits my
students and their time, figuring out a new ways to assess

their knowledge and having them practicing as much as

possible, also Finishing my class with achieving all my
lesson plan objectives, and being able to deepen my
relation with my students in and outside class. For my
long term designing an English language curriculum that
meet Arabic native speakers need, and convince them,
and Teach strategies that they can use not just with
English learning, but with their daily life as well.

By using the communicative approach as my basic

teaching approach, however I use another techniques
related to another approaches because it impact with the
main purpose of learning a new language which is
communicating, and make it not just another subject we
study, but a tool we can use, also focusing on preparing
our students to nowadays market demands . However
there are some ideas I liked and tried in my daily classes
came around from different approaches, such as: Reading
approach (the idea of teaching students the practical
skills that they need right now). Audio-lingual
approach (How to drill some new habits in your students,
teach them some statements will help them with oral
communication) comprehension approach (TPR and using
authentic materials) yet currently Im teaching Kinder
garden and preschool students, also I had a decent
experience teaching online and High school learners, in
Five years I see myself teaching prep-school and High
school learners. I believe by choosing an appropriate style
and design it to meet the need of my students, always
lowering the effective filter and communicate with them,
ask for feedback from both of student and parents: Ill
inspire them and give them the push they need.

At first, we used to make annual plan with clear objectives

, thence every teacher will follow his own way doing the
daily lesson planning , as I learnt with you here, we try to
make our curriculum sticky as much as we can by using
stories, songs and modern technology devices such as
computers and tablets, also we motivate every previous
knowledge while we try to relate our curriculum with the
environment around our young students, in our lessons
we use scaffolding, teacher talk, warm up, and lots of
guided and less guided practices, also independent
practice , believing that every practice will be your way to
open the lock inside their tiny minds, also Modeling and
break down every lesson into small pieces. Using TPR and
authentic materials make them touch it and learn what it
means, i+1 with lowering affective filter.
While teaching 6 lessons per week, every lesson takes
from 1 hour to one and half, I follow 80/20 method , and If
we divided student's practice time we will find that 20% of
practice time going for independent practice, 30% less
guided practice, 50% guided practice, I use more guided
practices because I think students need some help at first
to feel comfort and take a risk with you, when they try,
there will be a new questions, and our lesson will be more
sticky, easy and clear.
Small quizzes with Small prizes using some candy or
fruits, help them when they are trying and accept every
mistake as they are learning, sometimes I listen for
personal stories not related to our lesson, and it's very
good because it makes them feel like they are inside
Friend's house, it makes them so excited, at the end of the
day we take a picture for our draws and textbooks and

upload it to our face book group to give families insight

about what we were doing and share with them our
achievements.
Yes, I do, greeting them in a very personal way like asking
how was Dragon ball episode last night? and shack
hands with every students, ask about how they are doing,
what's about new Cartoons, and anything could make
them excited, thence a small notes about our last lesson
with 3 or 4 questions on the white board, usually they
know our objectives for todays lesson, thence we will use
some games to assist us with our lesson for today.
at first, small quizzes with short questions on board to
motivate students memory and make them pay attention,
doing our practices in the text book under my observation
to give them chance to try, then I ask every student
individually to write something on board to give them
some confidence, after that they sit in pairs and discuss
about what we have learn and do a less guided practice
with writing the letter of today and the words that we
learn, relate it with pictures and color it.
Following our system we use to evaluate our students
depending on 3 major factors , 1- using usual paper
exams to measure how much they can memorize or recall ,
2- oral test to measure how much they can use of what
they learn, 3- overall evaluation for every activity we did
in one year. That's because we want to know how much we
achieved from our plan objectives, and if there are any
students who will need some extra lessons, and give them
the best grade they deserve.
