Dear Parents & Guardians,
At Inver Grove Heights Middle School we are continually striving to
provide our students with the tools they need to maximize their potential.
One way we do that is to extend the regular school year. Your student is
invited to our summer program to continue their learning. We invite
students based on standardized test scores, trimester class grades, and
teacher recommendations. We feel this method will allow students to
continue to refine their skills in math, science and English/language arts.
We will also invite a select few for a health, fitness and social skills
awareness class. Our hope is your child will be provided with instruction
from our summer staff in order to improve and refine their skills for the
upcoming school year. We welcome the opportunity to work with your
children over the summer months.
Our summer program begins Monday, June 20th and continues until
Tuesday, July 19th. Students will have July 4th and July 5th off for the
holiday. The daily schedule will include a maximum of three classes,
depending on their needs. The first session will begin at 7:30 am and
sessions will end at 10:40 am. Your child will then be dismissed for the
day. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer transportation for summer
school, but multiple bike racks will be available in the front of the school.
In order to create a positive learning experience for your child, we are
working hard to limit the number of students enrolled in each class
whereby providing a situation where students can have more
student/teacher contact than during the regular school year. Please return
your childs registration form to the main office by April 15th so we can
accurately plan an outstanding program for your child.
