In this video talks about what is most important to Amherst library and that is teaching students
how to formulate question. It addresses how library and the people who work for the libraries are
there as a resource. They help students formulate question and help with research. This video is
helpful because it brings up a lot of good point to why library are still relevant on college
campuses.
Bell, Steven. "Five Ways Academic Libraries Support Higher Education's Reboot." The

access to research to allow for students to have better access to. It shows how libraries are
evolving to support student's needs with things like library programs. This website is helpful

Halpern, Ailia S. Blog Posts. AILIAUWRITEBLOG, 14 Sept. 2016,
ailiauwriteblog.weebly.com/home/dear-anderw.
This website has many different blog postings the one ones that I focused on the most were.
Practicum Proposal and Practicum field observation. The proposal is important for why the

library even became my subject without the proposal my question would be irrelevant. Through
my practicum, I learned the times when this area of the library is most used. To answer my
question, I would need to look at the entire library, not just one specific spot.
Liu, Qianxiu et al. Measuring the Importance of Library User Education: A Comparative
Study Between Fudan University and the National Taiwan Normal University. The Journal of
Academic Librarianship, vol. 42, no. 6, 2016, pp. 644654. doi:10.1016/j.acalib.2016.08.009.
This journal is about how students at these two universities need to learn through inquiry and
independent study. this study states that to be a truly independent learner you must know how to
effectively us the library. The aims of the study are to find out the relevance of education
programs in academic libraries. This journal was very helpful. The question they are asking
about libraries is very like my own. The biggest difference was their question was based off of
library programs
Montgomery, Susan E., and Jonathan Miller. "The Third Place: The Library as
Collaborative and Community Space in a Time of Fiscal Restraint." College & Undergraduate
Libraries 18.2-3 (2011): 228-38. Web. 4 Dec. 2016.
This journal describes how the jobs of libraries are becoming obsolete. It talks about how the
cost of a library is a challenge and does not contribute to a students success. The journal
describes how people can use the library its services and resources but not go to the buildings.
This is helpful because it looks at the opposite side of a question. This is on the side that libraries
are no longer needed which is a different point of view.
