Middle East found out about gunpowder between 1240 1280 CE

Mainland Europe used gunpowder in 1248 CE

Britain found out about gunpowder mid 14th century

India discovered gunpowder in 1473 CE

Indonesia discovered gunpowder in 1817 CE

Japan discovered it around 1270

Korea discovered it around 1375

Ancient China is famous for various inventions, such as fire works, tea and the most known
gunpowder.

Gunpowder is and iron-grey powder.

The Chinese stumbled upon on gunpowder accidentally.
The Chinese were trying to create an elixir of immortality.
The Chinese sulfur and charcoal are used as the fuel, and the Potassium nitrate as the oxidizer.
Then the Chinese found out the gunpowder was explosive they used it as fireworks.
Few hundred later on they used gunpowder as weapons during a war.
During the war they used it to scare of people, then they realized gunpowder can be used as a
weapon to kill.

How does gunpowder work

Gunpowder works by a chemical reaction between the

combination of sulfur, saltpeter and charcoal together.

When you put heat or fire near the powder it will give a chemical
reaction and will explodes.

They used for this to make fireworks and ammunition for guns.

Gunpowder is used mostly as weapons to defend our country from wars if

were one to break out. So this changed the aspect of war in the process.
When guns were invented they started inventing more weapons to protect
their country from getting invaded.
Special effects: Movie use gunpowder as explosions or smoke
Explosives: People use gunpowder as explosives for mining, war purposes,
defence against invaders as mines.
Fireworks: People add extra chemicals for the fireworks to have color when
they explode.
Medicine: This type of medicine is mostly used during war, first you heat up
the gunpowder then you press it against the wound it would close it so you
wont bleed out and die.
Farming: The farmers used the gunpowder as an explosive to get rid of
rocks and stumps for it to farm even more land.

What is gunpowder's function

Gunpower is used for making bombs and also they used gunpowder for
traps in the war

They used gunpowder for mining applications like dynamites

In Asia people used it for fishing (dynamite fishing)

Its illegal for people to sell gunpowder if they get caught they will be
automatically get it jail.

Also gunpowder is used for fireworks

The most powerful kind of gunpowder is made with meal powder

and wood charcoal the best type of wood being willow.

Late 14th century European powder makers added liquid to make

the mixing better.

Originally it was mixed with a mortar and pestle or a stamping mill

using non-sparkling minerals (copper, bronze etc.)

Iron-shod stone or cast iron on an iron bed.
