Major
Assignment

Rough
Draft
When
I
was
only
13,
I
got
my
first
Apple
product.
I
remember
being
so
excited
to
have
something
that
was
so
new
and
big
at
the
time.
The
day
I
got
it,
I
was
so
overwhelmed
with
all
of
the
cool
stuff
the
iPod
had
that
most
flip
phones
didnt.
The
black,
shiny
touchscreen
was
so
smooth
and
light
in
my
hands.
From
the
moment
I
walked
out
of
the
Apple
store
with
it,
I
never
put
it
down.
I
can
remember
scrolling
through
the
iPod
amazed
by
all
there
was
on
it.
There
were
the
usual
apps
such
as
music,
weather,
and
everything
else
that
most
people
didnt
get
too
excited
about.
However,
there
was
something
new
called
Face
Time
that
everyone
was
going
crazy
over.
Face
Time
is
an
app
that
gives
people
time
spent
in
face-to-face
contact
with
someone
over
the
phone.
I
remember
thinking
how
awesome
it
was
that
I
could
call
people
and
not
only
hear
them,
but
see
them
too.
It
was
even
better
than
the
app
Skype
because
it
automatically
came
on
the
iPhone
or
iPod,
and
doesnt
require
Wi-Fi.
Being
that
I
was
only
13,
I
would
use
it
to
call
friends
or
family
who
were
only
5
to
10
minutes
away,
or
even
in
the
same
location
as
me.
I
would
do
it
just
for
fun
because
I
found
it
so
captivating
that
you
could
see
people
over
the
phone
and
not
actually
be
with
them.
However,
I
remember
quickly
being
informed
that
the
downside
to
this
new
app
was
that
rather
than
communicating
in
person,
you
were
stuck
behind
a
screen.
I
was
not
communicating
with
others
effectively
being
that
everyone
I
knew
was
only
20
minutes
away
from
me,
at
the
most.
My
mom
would
say
do
you
and
your
sister
really
have
to
talk
on
your
phones
when
you
guys
are
in
the
same
house?
I
quickly
learned
the
mistakes
I
was
making

and
the
improper
way
to
use
Face
Time.
Face
Time
was
made
to
be
able
to
connect
you
to
your
love
ones
who
may
be
far
away,
not
in
the
same
town
as
you.
The
problem
with
technology
is
that
many
people
are
not
having
face-to-face
conversations
and
are
doing
it
over
the
phone,
even
when
they
are
in
the
same
household.
The
big
hype
about
Face
Time
began
to
die
down,
and
with
no
delay,
I
began
to
forget
about
the
app
and
used
it
less
and
less.
Although
many
people
still
used
it
in
their
daily
lives,
it
was
not
as
exciting
to
me.
As
I
got
older,
there
became
more
apps
available
for
the
iPhone
such
as
Snap
Chat,
Instagram,
and
Twitter.
They
are
all
apps
that
authorize
you
to
communicate
with
other
people
and
allow
you
to
see
pictures
of
them
as
well.
Throughout
my
high
school
years,
I
began
to
use
those
apps
every
single
day.
Although
my
excitement
for
Face
Time
dwindled
throughout
the
years,
I
slowly
began
to
start
back
up
with
using
it
for
things
such
as
homework.
I
would
Face
Time
my
classmates
when
I
needed
help
with
things
that
could
not
be
taught
over
text,
or
even
over
the
phone.
This
was
very
efficient
because
it
allowed
me
to
learn
and
see
the
work
step
by
step,
when
I
was
not
able
to
do
so
in
person.
It
is
a
quick
and
easy
way
to
get
help.
I
also
began
to
use
it
when
I
needed
to
be
able
to
show
a
family
member
how
to
do
something,
if
we
were
not
able
to
see
each
other
right
away.
Gradually,
I
started
to
use
Face
Time
more,
and
in
the
right
ways.
Since
then,
I
have
graduated
from
high
school
and
have
started
college.
Starting
a
new
year
in
college
means
having
to
say
goodbye
to
the
closest
people
in
my
life,
my
friends
and
family.
Being
a
freshman
especially,
that
can
be
tough.

Because
of
that,
I
have
used
Face
Time
more
than
ever
since
I
have
gotten
here.
I
have
learned
to
appreciate
the
app
more
so
than
calling
or
texting,
because
it
enables
me
to
not
only
hear
the
person
I
am
talking
to,
but
to
see
them
also.
It
is
also
a
quicker
way
to
communicate
and
see
people
rather
than
with
other
apps
like
Snap
Chat,
Instagram,
and
Facebook.
Since
I
am
overwhelmed
with
new
classes
I
find
it
much
easier
to
sit
down
and
catch
up
with
someone
over
Face
Time,
rather
than
with
texting
or
Snap
Chat.
Although,
it
hindered
me
in
the
past
from
communicating
with
people
over
technology
rather
than
in
person,
it
has
helped
me
in
college
to
interact
with
the
people
that
I
am
no
longer
just
20
minutes
away
from.
Face
Time
is
also
helping
me
with
getting
a
job.
There
is
a
program
within
the
school
that
allows
you
to
Face
Time
or
video
chat
with
an
adviser
or
someone
in
the
job
that
you
are
looking
for.
You
are
able
to
have
a
practice
interview
with
that
person
over
Face
Time.
This
gives
you
the
opportunity
to
get
a
feel
for
how
a
real
interview
is
by
getting
asked
similar
questions
and
getting
used
to
talking
in
front
of
someone.
It
also
allows
you
to
get
feedback
from
the
person
you
are
talking
to.
It
is
an
easy
way
to
practice
without
having
to
meet
in
person.
