RANK 1: Pharmaceutical Industry


Very comprehensively sought demand and supply side factors are
mentioned. A detail oriented EFE and IFE analysis is performed showing the
knowledge and grasp the company has over both home and international
Pharma markets. The IFE and EFE analysis are inclusive of the major
managerial policy concepts discussed in the course. SWOT of both the new
company and the industry, PESTLE global and local industry wise, CIP
analysis, Perceptual map, demand and supply side factors, Porters 6 forces
and Porters National Model, Business Value chain etc. This is the only report
analyzing international and local competitors separately and have
considered them separately not disregarding the influence of foreign
markets. Details about the new company inclusive 4Ps, vision, mission, goals
and values as well which are very important in the Pharma Industry. Along
with this, we have also mentioned Why we chose Pharma industry for
forming a new company and not any other.
RANK 2: Biscuit
They have included a survey and have also tabulated its results and their
new company offerings are in lieu of those results which shows pre planning
and will ensure future performance. They have also mentioned porter
national model and a very comprehensive perceptual map depicting their
real position in the market and how they can strengthen their positioning.
Mentioning the challenges and the recommendations show how they are
prepared to face any obstacles beforehand.
RANK 3: Spice
A very detail oriented report with use of several managerial policy concepts
which were overlooked by other groups such as Porters 5 forces and
Diamond Model as well as a very extensive Competitor Profile analysis which
shows how well they can counter the competitors offering through SAMS
spices. Moreover, they have presented and calculated estimated financials
as well as are utilizing both blue ocean and reinventing the business model
strategies which is done by no other company.
RANK 4: Skincare
The only group to have done a focus group which is good. Along with the
required agenda they have also mentioned brand strengths which are

important to know the why it will be preferred by the target audience. Very
well defined IFE, EFE and CPM analysis is performed in the light of
managerial policy concepts. Although, I do not agree with the blue ocean
strategy but it is well justified.

RANK 5: Cola
Mention of pricing strategy and process flow is good. SWOT, missing gap,
detailed CIP and well measured and articulated key success drivers.
Company details and estimated costing is also present which gives an idea
about future profitability of the new company.
RANK 6: Milk
A lot of focus has been given to history of the Milk Industry which was not
necessary. But on the other hand, they have mentioned consumer insights
which is a good thing as they have a clear vision why Aman Doodh is needed
in the market and how they will successfully carve a niche. Along with this,
step by step company strategy as well their company details are mentioned.
RANK 7: Detergent
Key success factors of the new company and future drivers are mentioned
along with this no explicit mention of CIP i.e Perceptual map. Porters five
forces and national model analysis is also missing. The company details like
4Ps are mentioned which are agreeable. But managerial policy concepts
could have been better used for explaining the positioning and success of
FRESH detergent in the market against huge competitors like Surf Excel and
Ariel.
RANK 8: Chips
A very well-articulated report with the presence of majority of the objectives
that were required by Sir. However, they have not mentioned how their new
company will counter the competition from not just baked and grilled chips
category but also the others since, while buying snacks like chips audience
prefer taste over their health which is pre established In their mind and taste
palette.
RANK 9: Ice cream
Managerial Policy components such as BCG matrix or Perceptual Map
showing present positioning is not present. Along with this, the reasoning for
SNOFIT following blue ocean is not valid as many sugar free ice creams both
locally manufactured as Kulfis and internationally as well.

RANK 10: Media
Future drivers of the company, details about company and justification of
how it will be preferred by the target audience over others in a very
congested market of news channels both nationally and internationally.
RANK 11: Chocolate
Future drivers of CHOCOFIT are not mentioned as well as PESTEL Global since
it is highly relevant as the top competitors are all international. SWOT
analysis is missing along with the fact that I disagree that the market for
dark chocolate with health benefits is a blue ocean since many different
brands are already available in the market ranging from the lower priced
Hersheys kisses to Higher end priced Lindt and Butlers Dark Chocolate.
Moreover, such low pricing cannot be justified with these many product
benefits.
RANK 12: Telecommunication
Many companies already existing in the market offering the services
provided by OneTel and hence, they have not really justified how their
company acts as a niche and follows the blue ocean strategy. Moreover, not
mentioned competitors position in the market.
RANK 13: E commerce
Even though, they have mentioned all the important points as required by
Sir, they have not explained them properly plus different concepts of
managerial policy such as CPM, BCG and Perceptual Map are missing so
there is no idea of their companys competitive strategy or their potential
place in the market.
