Introduction
This FW upgrade instruction is intended for installer as basis for FW upgrade of UHD system TV in standalone mode.
Instruction is valid for upgrading production FW version to MR4.5

Tools needed: Green or Yellow setup remote control and
two USB sticks (avoid Kingston as this brand is known for
its problems during cloning)

Have USB drive 1 with correct FW available; empty stick with just 1 directory: upgrades
This directory should contain 2 files:
1. ssbfirmware.upg
2. iboardfirmware.bin
Master TV:

1. Upload new FW to TV (insert USB drive and press F button on green remote to start)
Pay attention to the following screens:

TV will automatically restart. DO NOT REMOVE the USB drive.

TV will automatically restart. Remove the USB drive

Check with Recall button the FW version is correct

Line 03 = Iboard Firmware

Line 04 = SSB Firmware

Note that when using F button or Reset button several error messages will appear on screen of those items which are not included on the USB (e.g. Vsecure); No action

needed.

Reset iboard NVM; press on green setup remote: 042420Menu

Press RIGHT and get next message STORING.

When STORING disappears press Menu to leave this Diagnostic menu.

Cold start TV (remove mains power).

Set configuration:
Subtitles at startup = off
Specific predefined settings for hotel, like startup channel.
Set correct channel installation parameters.
Perform a Clean install: do a channel search for appropriate systems, hereafter a channel sort needs to be done. Ask
Philips HQ for assistance if needed.
Clone data to master USB drive 2

7. USB drive 1: Upload new FW (insert USB drive and press F button on green remote to start)
Same procedure as described at STEP1 #1, #2 and #3 .

8. USB drive 2: Clone master data (Press Reset button on green remote to start)
Pay attention to the ssb_nvm cloning part is OK, see OSD screen below:

After a restart the iboardnvm will be stored, showing this screen:

Note:
TV will restart automatically, in
between NVM uploading actions.
