Dear Teacher,

Happy Hearts 1 Teachers Resource CD-Rom has been designed to provide you with
extra material to fully exploit the language of Happy Hearts 1. The material will help the
children reflect on and improve their language learning and ensure a fun time as they
interact with their favourite characters.
The material is divided into the following sections:
i. Characters: You will find the characters of Happy Hearts 1 in this section. You can
use them to make your own puppets (by printing them out and sticking them on
straws) or make your own worksheets. (For example, print them out and cut them into
four or five pieces like a jigsaw. The children then put the pieces together and name
the characters.)
ii. Picture Dictionary: You can find the key vocabulary of the course in this section. You
can use it to make your own vocabulary cards and play various games such as Snap,
Bingo, Kims game, Pelmanism, etc.
iii. Extra Photocopiable Resources: Here you will find the same photocopiable material
as in the Happy Hearts 1 Teachers Book. In this way, you can adapt the material to
your needs before printing it out and using it in class.
iv. Extra Craftwork Activities: Children learn by doing. As a result, it is essential we
involve them in art, crafts and design activities. In this section, you can find even more
craftwork activities to use in the classroom.
v. Colouring & Activity Book: These reinforcement and extension activities further
develop the childrens pen-to-paper control as well as their pre-reading and prewriting skills. In addition, this section provides the first steps to numeracy.
We are sure that, with your guidance, the children will love the Happy Hearts series and
will have a positive and enjoyable start to learning the English language.
