IMPORTANT USES OF THE SECLECTED ORES

ARE :THE USES OF IRON:o INDUSTRIAL USE :i. Iron is mostly used to create steel,
which is used in civil engineering and
manufacturing industries. Ordinary
carbon steel consists of iron, carbon
and small amounts of other
elements. ... Chromium and nickel are
also often added to produce noncorroding stainless steel.

o COMMERCIAL USE :1.

Iron is a strong metal that is not

that expensive. It is fairly cheap that

why it is commonly used in
manufacturing machine tools,
automobiles, hulls of large ships,
machine parts, and even building parts.
A good chunk of structures today are
made of metallic iron.
2.

Iron is also common in many

different tools, surgical equipments,

and appliances. Stainless steel is a
common type of steel used in a host of
different products. It is created when
iron is combined with other metals. It is
100% recyclable and is used in aircrafts
and automobiles. The use of stainless
steel and iron in this form makes
everything in our world today working
perfectly fine.
USES OF ALUMINUM :-

o INDUSTRIAL USE :1.

Some of the many uses for
aluminum metal are in: Transportation
(automobiles, aircraft, trucks, railway
cars, marine vessels, bicycles,
spacecraft, etc.) as sheet, tube, and
castings. Packaging (cans, foil, frame of
etc.).
o COMMERCIAL USE :1.
It is the second most malleable
metal and the sixth most ductile. It
is often used as an alloy
because aluminum itself is not
particularly strong. Alloys with
copper, manganese, magnesium and
silicon are lightweight but strong.
They are very important in the
construction of aero planes and
other forms of transport.
USES OF ZINC :-

o INDUSTRIAL USE :1.

Zinc is also used in alloys such as
brass, nickel silver and aluminum
solder. Zinc oxide is widely used in the
manufacture of very many products
such as paints, rubber, cosmetics,
pharmaceuticals, plastics, inks, soaps,
batteries, textiles and electrical
equipment.

equipment.
USES OF COPPER :o INDUSTRIAL USE :The major applications of copper are electrical
wire (60%), roofing and plumbing (20%),

and industrial machinery

(15%). Copper is used mostly as a pure metal,
but when greater hardness is required, it is put
into such alloys as brass and bronze (5% of
total use).
