AnemployeesJobRelationshipscanbeinheritedfromaPositionwhenthePositionisassignedtotheemployee.On

sectionofaPositionwillbesynchronizedtoanemployeesJobRelationships.
ThisenablesPositionbasedJobRelationshipstobemaintainedonPositionsratherthanindividuallyforeach

PositionTypes
TheTypefieldcanbeusedtoidentifydifferenttypesofpositions,forwhichstandardsystembehaviorcanbemodified.
ThesystemcomeswithtwostandardPositionTypes(RegularandSharedPosition),butcustomPositionTypescanbe
createdintheManageDataUI.
Thisfeatureisparticularlyusefulifcertaintypesorgroupsofpositionsrequiredifferenttypesofchangestoothertypes
orgroupsofpositions.Forexample,sharedpositionsmayrequiredifferenttypesofmanagerreassignmentifthe

PositionTransferorPositionReclassification
WhenaPositionTransferorPositionReclassificationtakesplace,informationmaintainedontheJobInformationfor
anemployeewillbesynchronizedtothePositionobjectassignedtotheemployee.Thefieldsthataresynchronized
aredefinedbyarulethatcanbeassignedinPositionManagementSettingsinthefieldRuleforSynchronizing
PositionafterJobInformationChange.
InmostcasesthesystemdeterminesaPositionTransferasachangeofmanagerforanemployee,althoughinthe
caseofapromotionanemployeewouldmovetoanewpositionwithoutachangetotheexistingposition.Thesystem
determinesaPositionReclassificationaschangestoanemployeesJobInformationbyamanager.Theseare
technicallydefinedontherelevantEventReasonFoundationObjectsbysettingthevalueoftheFollowUpActivityon
PositionfieldtoeitherPositionReclassificationorPositionTransfer.
WhenaPositionTransfertakesplace,thesystemsearchesforapositionundertheemployeesmanagersPosition
thathastheTobehiredfieldvaluesettoYesandassignstheemployeetothisPosition.IfnoPositionisfoundthena
newPositioniscreatedandtheemployeeisassignedtoit.ThePositionsFTEvaluewillbetakenfromtheemployees
FTEfield.TheTobehiredfieldvalueoftheoldPositionremainsasNoandtheTobehiredfieldvalueofthenew
