PLD & EOD Process using Ascent

Purpose: To document the process of End of Day, done at plants on daily basis.
Background: The EOD process is a critical activity which must be performed by all
the plants. This ensures that the tracking numbers used for boxes are sent to UPS
on timely manner. If UPS receives the tracking numbers on time then:
1) If needed, a package can be easily intercepted without a lot manual work to
locate it.
2) Secondly & most importantly, UPS will bill Select Comfort for products
shipped based on a discounted rate rather than using single piece rate, which
saves a lot of money. In other words, if EOD not done, then results in highly
inflated amount on UPS Bills.
Pre-requisites: Before EOD process is done, below steps must be taken for every
truck/ trip leaving the plant with product:
1) Assign the delivery of the sales order line to the trip.
2) Once sales order line is SHIP CONFIRMED & trip is CLOSED, submit the
concurrent program SC: WSH EBS to Ascent PLD Outbound Interface using the
below steps:
a. Go to View (Menu Bar) >> Requests.
b. Submit a New Request >> Single Request >> Click OK.
c. Program name - SC: WSH EBS to Ascent PLD Outbound Interface

d. Ship From Org Plant Name (M01, M02 or M03)

e. Trip Name Trip # assigned to delivery.
NOTE: This program should be run only once for every trip closed.
Once the shift ends for a plant, all the tracking numbers shipped out of plants
during that shift must be sent to UPS the same day. Following are the step by step
