MR15.1 Software Release for MTM5000 Series and for MTP3000

and MTP6000 Series when used with Si300 and Si500.
Introduction

The Global TETRA Devices team is pleased to announce the shipaccept of the
latest software release (MR15.1), note the long title and for such a simple
Software Release we have lots to detail!
Lets begin with the MTM5000 Series Mobiles. MR15.1 replaces MR15
and in troduces a range of New Features (detailed below) as well as these
new features the software release brings with it completion of the Hardware
transition to the NEW GPS Chipset and the intended move to increased Flash
Memory. These Hardware changes have the following impacts;

No Software Downgrades from MR15.1(refer to Release Notes for more

detail.

New Hardware Shipping Cut over dates may vary by Region and
Bandwidth. Example Customers Served out of the Malaysia facility will
be subject to phased introduction (Contact your local Operations Team
if you require any Hardware dependant features (GNSS).

For the Mobiles the following improvements and NEW Features have been
implemented;

Dual Control Head (DCH) two updates to improve display (see below)

Multiple Radio Control (MRC) Two Transceivers One Control Head

OEM Control Head (OEM CH) enabling Application Partners to create

solutions.

Global Satellite Navigation Systems (GNSS) New Chipset gives access to

multiple Systems including Russias GLONASS and Chinas BEIDOU.

For the MTP3000 and MTP6000 Series MR15.1 introduces advance support for
the NEW S i 300 and Si 500 Accessories. This part of the Software Release is
only available as an Aftermarket update and IS ONLY Required for use with
these NEW Accessories. In all other respects MR15.1 for MTP3000/6000 is
identical to MR15.
MR15.1 for MTP3000/6000 is orderable as a DVD Aftermarket kit, refer to the
Release Notes and relevant Price Pages (eCAT).

MR15.1 Release is only supported by CPS / iTM7.1 and introduces the

following features:Dual Control Head (DCH) improvements
New Configurable selection for Display, Mirror or Active / Passive
Backlight Control can now be set independently on each CH.
Multiple Radio Control (MRC)
Combine any two MTM5000 or MTM800FuG Series Transceivers with a Single
Ethernet Control Head (either the TSCH or the ReCH), Transceivers can be any
band so for example an 800MHz combined with a 350MHz, or a 380MHz combined
with a 450Mhz.
The MRC License must be enabled on both Transceivers.

We have introduced an Ethernet Data Box Model in all bands to enable second
Transceiver purchase and to support the OEM CH solutions.
OEM CONTROL (OEM CH)
Motorola Solutions have released the Remote Display Control Interface and
Protocol as a licensed API for any approved Application Partner. The Protocol
provides all the necessary controls along with a working Sample Application.
Application Partners can now develop personalized solutions and NEW Control
head solutions to suit any requirement. OEM CH solutions can be implemented as
part of a Dual CH solution.
Once a solution has been created using the RDC interface and Protocol then a
license must be purchase to allow it to be used on the Motorola Transceiver (Note
only MTM5400/MTM800FuG and MTM5500/MTM800FuG-ET support OEM CH).

NEW Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) Solutions
With the introduction of the new GPS Chipset support of GNSS and Satellite Based
Augmentation Systems (SBAS) is introduced. The existing GPS option is
immediately enhanced to include SBAS. A second Satellite System can also be
added to act simultaneously or individual Systems can be selected as follows;

The following NEW MTM5000 Model has been created to

support the MRC and OEM CH Features.

Finally along with the Hardware redesign for the GPS and new Flash the 380MHz
Models have adopted the MACE E2EE Modular solution as used in the other bands
and using the exact same Module as the MTP3000 and MTP6000 Series. This
change will be effectively immediately and to all intents and purposes the NEW
Models are fully backwards compatible. A separate cancellation note for the
Generation I 380MHz E2EE Model options will be issued.
All Model Options are loaded onto eCAT, for further information contact Product
Manager.
