Guide to Using the Transmission Precheck MML Script

1 Introduction to Script Application

Introduction to Script Application

Overview
The transmission precheck MML script is an application software package running on the iSStar
platform. With this MML script, the U2000 generates transmission precheck MML commands
and issues them to NEs.
The following figure shows the process of generating and issuing the transmission precheck
MML commands.

U2000
Guide to Using the Transmission Precheck MML Script

1 Introduction to Script Application

1.

Copy the XML configuration file that the CME generated based on the planned
configuration data to the local PC where the U2000 client is installed.

2.

The U2000 parses the XML file. Based on the data in the XML file, live network data, and
the precheck parameters configured by users, the U2000 generates a precheck MML script
and issues it to NEs through the MML interface.

3.

The NEs return result information to the U2000.

NOTE

l The MML interface is used between the U2000 and GBSCs, RNCs, and NodeBs.
l The Abis interface is used between the GBSC and the GBTS.

Specifications
The U2000 can precheck a maximum of 50 base stations at a time. The precheck results are
generated within 20 minutes.

2 Process of Issuing Precheck MML Commands

Process of Issuing Precheck MML

Commands

This section describes the process of issuing precheck MML commands for smooth transmission
reconstruction.

Importing an XML File

After planning the data table for smooth transmission reconstruction, import the table into the
CME to generate an XML file. Then, copy the XML file to the directory where the U2000 client
installation package is stored and import it into the U2000 client. Each XML file corresponds
to a base station controller.

Generating Precheck MML Commands

The U2000 obtains data from the XML file exported from the CME. Then, the U2000 searches
for base station information (including DEVIP/BTSIP, IPRT, and Tunnel) by base station name
and generates precheck MML commands for the corresponding scenario. In addition, the U2000
generates a reverse MML script to restore data to that before the precheck.
The U2000 can generate precheck MML commands for the following scenarios:
l

GSM TDM transmission is reconstructed to backplane IP co-transmission.

GSM IPoE1 transmission and GSM IPoFE transmission are reconstructed to backplane IP
co-transmission.

UMTS transmission is reconstructed to backplane IP co-transmission.

Delivering Precheck Results

The U2000 delivers the MML scripts generated for the corresponding scenarios to the specified
base stations.

Displaying Results
The U2000 can display precheck results after issuing MML commands. This helps users check
whether the planned data is correct and rational and determine whether to deliver the data to
NEs.

3 Operation Procedure of Transmission Precheck

Operation Procedure of Transmission

Precheck

Prerequisites
l

The U2000 client has been installed, and users have the permission to use the iSStar.

CME planned data for smooth transmission reconstruction is ready.

Sharing data on the base station controller side has been activated for smooth transmission
reconstruction.

In co-transmission mode, the base station of a certain network system for output
transmission is working properly, and configuration data for reconstructing base stations
in the inventory is ready.

Procedure
Step 1 Log in to the U2000 client, and choose System Management > iSStar > Application
Management (application style) or Maintenance > iSStar > Application Management
(traditional style) to open the Application Management window.
Step 2 Select an existing workspace, or click

to create a workspace.

, or right-click in the blank area of Workspace and choose Create Bookmark from
Step 3 Click
the shortcut menu. The Create Bookmark dialog box is displayed.
Step 4 Set relevant parameters in the Create Bookmark dialog box.
Choose Application type, enter a Bookmark name, and choose a Source file and Icon file.
NOTE

You can obtain the source file of the smooth evolution application script from the local installation file in
iManagerU2000Client\client\script\application\Transmission_Smooth_Evolution_Testing_Tools.

Step 5 Double-click the created bookmark, or select a bookmark and click Run to display the iSStar
Execute Window.

3 Operation Procedure of Transmission Precheck

Step 6 In the iSStar Execute Window, view the introduction to Smooth Evolution Application for
Inventory Transmission, and click Next.
Step 7 Select scenario for transmission pre-evaluation, and click Next.

Step 8 Specify the directory in which the planned data (in an XML file) of the base stations to be
reconstructed is stored. Then, click Next. The U2000 can identify base stations to be prechecked
by parsing the scriptcfg.xml file.
NOTE

l The scriptcfg.xml file must exist in the selected directory. If the scriptcfg.xml file does not exist, an
error message is displayed.
l The U2000 obtains the names of base station controller and base stations from the scriptcfg.xml file.
Information about only one base station controller can be contained in the scriptcfg.xml file. Otherwise,
an error message is displayed.

Step 9 Perform the following operations based on the planned data of the base station to be restructured.
If...

Then...

The planned data contains

data encrypted using the
AES256 algorithm

1. Enter the password for decrypting the file.

NOTE
The system displays Enter the
password to decrypt the
planning data file (in .ecf
format).

NOTE
The password for decrypting the file is the same as that for
encrypting the file when it is exported from the CME.

2. Click Next.

The planned data does not

the AES256 algorithm
Step 10 Select base stations to be prechecked and set transmission precheck parameters. Then, click
Next. The U2000 generates precheck MML commands based on the selected precheck base
stations and parameter settings.
