Inmyopinion,whenastepuptransformerisnecessary,itshouldbedesignedandidentifiedforsuchapplication.
Thisarticledoesnotaddresssuchproblems,butitaddressesthegeneralrequirementsthatareoutlinedinthe
NationalElectricalCode(NEC).
Thebigquestionseemedtobewhetherthegroundedconductor(usuallyaneutral)isrequiredtobeconnectedto
theXOterminationpoint.Ofcourse,theanswerisno.Whenthegroundedconductorisusedinthistypeof
installation,itmustnotbeconnectedtotheXOterminalandmustnotbebondedtotheenclosureorearthgrounded.
Foroperationalpurposes,justconnecttheungroundedphaseconductorstotheoutputterminalsthatareusually

Notethatagroundedneutralconductorcannotbederivedfromareversefedtransformerbecausestandard

Therefore,ifthe480Vsideisgrounded,oneofitsphaseconductorsmustbeconnectedtoanearthgrounded

Thetransformersoutputside
The480Vinputsideisnowusedastheoutputside.ThereisnoXOterminationtherefore,oneoftheungrounded

Advantages
First,cornergroundeddeltasystemswillstabilizethevoltagesoftheothertwoungroundedconductors.Second,this

Disadvantages
Thesystemisnotabletoprovidedualvoltageserviceforlightingandpowerloads.Also,thegroundedconductor
mustbepositivelyindentifiedthroughouttheelectricalsystem.Finally,ahigherlinetogroundvoltage(byafactorof
