Task Procedures:
1. Ask the pupils to keep all their things under the table or in their bags.
2. Call out the pupils to the front of the class, group by group. Group 1, please come in
front (gesture : point in front of you). Ask the pupils to sit down in rows.
Classroom management : Gesturing silent sign while getting the pupils to gather
and sit down in front of you silently.
3. Conduct a shared reading session as follows:
a) Show the powerpoint slide Our Solar System.
Look at the screen (Point to the screen).
b) Then read the text using the correct stress and intonation. Now, lets read
together (gesture inviting sign). Listen to me. Then, you read (Point to the text
while reading).
c) Ask any questions that are relevant to the text(verbally).
Names the planets that belong to the solar system.

4. Ask the pupils to stand up and go back to their chair, group by group.
Classroom management :
Teacher says, Hello, girls.
The girl respond, Yes, teacher. (making cute face)
Teacher says, Hello, boys.
The boys says, Yes, teacher. (making macho face)
To get the pupils attention.
5. Distribute the worksheets to the pupils and asks the pupils to anwer comprehension
questions.
Managing errors and mistakes:
A. If pupils read the text incorrectly/poor pronunciation, ask them to stop by saying
Oo.....ow . Then get another pupil to read aloud the text correctly before getting
the rest to follow.
Reward And Feedback:
1) Pat on a pupils shoulder once they have finished reading the text and praise them by
saying awesome! Excellent! Good!
2) When the pupils answer all the comprehension question correctly, praise them by
saying awesome! Excellent! Good! and give them sticker. Who get the most at the
end of the unit will get a reward (pencils, books or maybe a plate of fried noodle).
