Supervises the dentists in the division,assists the Head HNS re- dental programs and projects and performs the duties of a school dentist. Acts as Head- of HNS in
the absence of the medical officer.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Dental Aide- RO and DO
1. Conducts dental health talks in the classroom to Grade 1 pupils.
2. Orients the Grade 1 pupils in proper toothbrushing
3. Assists pupils in toothbrushing and flouride mouth rinsing
4. Keeps instruments and supplies in order at the working table.
5. Cleans, sterilizes and polishes dental instruments.
6. Demonstrates the proper clothing shields, aprons and other safety equipment.
7. Observes proper disposal of dental wastes.
8. Cooperates and coordinates with teachers on dental projects and programs
9. Records the findings of the dentist in the dental cards.
10. Sets up basic instrument trays.
11. Observes proper asepsis and follow proper handling of hazardous materials.
12.Loads and unloads dental anesthetics and needles from the syringes.

1. Formulates policies, rules and regulations concerning dental services (CO).
2. Conducts dental treatment to Deped officials and employees and their immediate dependents.
3. Recommends the improvement and funding of dental health projects.
4. Makes requisitions for dental supplies, equipment, medicaments and dental medicines.
5. Acts as property custodian in the dental clinic.
6. Acts as consultant and resource person on dental matters.
7. Undertakes studies/researches in school dental health prgram and continuing dental health education.
8. Performs other functions as may be assigned by higher authorities.
9. Conducts in-service trainings (DO).
10.Formulates and implements policies on dental health education and programs.
11.Assists in planning, organizing and coordinating the school dental health program.
12.Recommends promotion of dental health personnel.
13.Evaluates the school dental health program.
14.Inspects the facilities of school dental clinic and investigates the missing equipment.
15.Evaluates the school dental health program.
16.Prepares and submits required reports.
17.Provides dental health education and instruction to school populace
18.Acts as resource person/ consultant during meetings, conferences, workshops on dental health program. Assist in the preparation of memoranda, bulletins,
circulars in the Division on dental health program.
19.Orients teachers on the use of appropriate IEC materials on dental health.
20.Recommends the prohibition of sale of cariogenic foods to school administrators.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


21. Ensures the provision of dental troughs in every school.
22.Coordinates the provision of safe, clean and adequate health facilities in schools.
23.Cooperates/coordinates with the school officials and community in the organization of school community health council.
24.Participates in community assemblies in relation to dental health.
25.Joins civic activities on oral health education, bayanihan and tooth extraction.
26.Conducts oral examination, oral prophylaxis , restores carious teeth and extracts unsavable infected teeth.
27.Conducts referrals and follow up of cases.
28.Performs emergency dental treatment.
29.Implements and monitors dental projects/program like Sodium Flouride Rinsing Project, BSBF, EHCP and others.
30.Recommends the use of herbal plants in dental treatment like tsaang gubat.
31.Recommends medicine and other dental supplies for purchase.
32.Confers with officials or department heads regarding the needs, improvement and recognition of dental health personnel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Coordinates and supervises the dental staff and other school health agencies in the implementation of the school dental health program.
2. Formulates plans and coordinates the operations of the school dental health program.
3. Conducts in-service trainings on dental health education, office policies, clinic management and administration.
4. Supervises school dental clinics and coordinates the dental health education activities of the region.
5. Recommends use of audio-visuals and other instructional materials for dental health education.
6. Assists in the preparation of teaching guides and materials in dental health education
7. Acts as consultant and resource person on dental matters.
8. Recommends the procurement of dental equipment, supplies and medicine.
9. Supervises the operations of the dental clinics and coordinates the dental health programs.
10.Promotes efficiency and maintains discipline of dental personnel.
11.Conducts dental studies and researches for the improvement of dental health education.
12.Evaluates the implementation of the school dental health program in the region
13.Assists in the preparation of memoranda, bulletins, circulars, etc., on dental education.
14.Evaluates the effectiveness and adequacy of the dental health program and recommends the improvement and funding of dental health projects.
15.Prepares and submits periodic, annual and other required reports.
16.Inspects the facilities of school dental clinics and recommends improvement and innovative techniques for dental program.
17.Conducts dental services to ROP employees and staff such as extraction, oral prophylaxis, fillings, restoration of dentures and gum treatment.
18.Monitors and evaluates dental programs such as Universal Medical-Dental Health Program, Bright Smile-Bright Future Program, Essential Health Package;
and Zero Cavity Program.
19.Conducts referrals and orthodontic treatment to offricials employees.
20.Takes and Acts as first aiders, designated as alternate in DSWD programs, examines athletes for Palarong Pambansa.
21.Establishes new techniques and procedures and modifies existing methods and procedures with administrative approval.
22.Directs and attends work-related meetings.
23.Acts as HNU as needed.
