PART I HISTORY OF THE PLACE
History of the Destination

The hotel was launched recently, which saw the unveiling of the Hotel Jen logo
and ribbon cutting initiated by Hotel Jen executives. Hotel officials were also
present to grace the event, which include Gordon Aerie, general manager of
Hotel Jen Manila; Golden Whitehead, director of special projects, Hotel Jen
Headquarters, Kitchie Benedicto-Paulino, chairman/CEO of New Riviera Hotel
Development Corp.; Mrs. Pia de Leon Ongsiako chief operating officer of New
Riviera Hotel Development Corp., Mr. Paulo Paulino; Christine Paulino; Mayor
Juliet Ferrer; Roger Rosales, Mrs. Jhona Paulino; and Ruth Corcega, director of
New Riviera Hotel Development Corp.Hotel Jen brings all these accouterments
together to give those looking for an extraordinary hotel experience an ideal
place they can really depend on.Located on Roxas Boulevard, Hotel Jen is just
about 20 minutes away from the international and domestic airports and its 30
minutes away to the Makati Business District. Just next door are the countrys
premier conference and exhibition facilities: the Cultural Center of the
Philippines, Philippine International Convention Center, World Trade Center and
SMX Convention Center. But life should never be all work and no play Malate,
the entertainment district is only a short walk away.The Hotel Jen brand is

The Company's development efforts are focused primarily on fully integrated
five star resorts, although select business oriented boutique hotels with
extensive amenities in prime city locations are currently under consideration
and development.Each property will be unique in its personality, style, design
and facilities. A Hotel Jen Manila will typically include hotel accommodation,
conference facilities,bar facilities, exceptional food and beverage and
residential real estate development.Financial stability will be assured by
superior financial returns to shareholders and investors and by the
enhancement of assets through the resort positioning in the market place,
together with on-going investment in training, brand enforcement, marketing
and promotions.

PART 2 DESCRIPTION OF THE DIFFERENT DEPARTMENT


Front Office
The front office or reception is an area where visitors arrive and first
encounter a staff at a place of business. Front office staff will deal with
whatever question the visitor has, and put them in contact with a relevant
person at the company.
Food & Beverage
Food and beverage is a dynamic industry covering a wide range of job roles.
From baristas to head waiters, mixologists and sommeliers, it is a career with
many opportunities for development.
Housekeeping
Housekeeping is cleaning, organizing and performing the general upkeep of
a home. Housekeeping is usually either done by family members through
chores or by a professional housekeeper who is hired.
Sales and Marketing
Sales focuses on selling prospects and growing revenue among current
customers, while marketing departments typically develop materials and
create lead generation programs. Marketing teams frequently work to support
sales.

Human Resource Department


Human resource department is the department of human resources. It is a
function in organizations designed to maximize employee performance in
service of an employer's strategic objectives
Engineering Department
Engineering Department is a specialized form of department that is
concerned with the application of engineering principles to business practice.
Engineering management is a career that brings together the technological
problems.
Maintenance Department
The plant maintenance department is responsible for making sure that all
machines are running properly, such that workers are safe and that the plant
can perform its function efficiently. The department makes periodic fixes and
upgrades to all machines and equipment, and it might also perform janitorial
and grounds services.

PART 3 CULTURAL ANALYSIS


I. Introduction
This module introduces students to different methodological and critical approaches to
the analysis and study of cultural production and consumption, in a range of different
social, historical and political contexts. Week by week students are taken through a
range of relevant questions, topics and themes relating to the critical and contextual
analysis of culture, and are shown the ways in which culture itself informs the ways in
which it is theoretically interpreted. In the first five weeks students are introduced to a
range of general questions relating to cultural analysis and theory. In the last five weeks,
students are taken through a range of thematic and case-based engagements which
examine ways in which culture can be analysed and interpreted in specific contexts.

There are no entitled history of this hotel because it is only located in Manila and other
countries.
III. Geographical Setting

Location
It is located at Manila, Singapore, Maldives, Beijing, HongKong and
Shangrila

Climate
Climate of Manila is either tropical rainforest, tropical savanna, tropical
monsoon, or humid subtropical characterized by relatively high
temperature, oppressive humidity and plenty of rainfall. There are two
seasons in the country, the wet season and the dry season, based upon
the amount of rainfall.[1] This is also dependent on location in the country
as some areas experience rain all throughout the year. Based on
temperature, the warmest months of the year are March through October;
the winter monsoon brings cooler air from November to February. May is
the warmest month, and January, the coolest.

Topography
Topography is the study of the shape and features of the surface of
the Earth and
other
observable astronomical
objects including planets, moons, and asteroids. The topography of an
area could refer to the surface shapes and features themselves

IV. Social Institutions

The nuclear family


A nuclear family is a family group consisting of a pair of a woman and a

man (adults) and their children (one or more), considering a time after the
pair engagement,different than Family-in-law.

The extended family


An extended family is a family that extends beyond the nuclear family,
consisting of parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, all living nearby or in the
same household. An example is a married couple that lives with either the
husband or the wife's parents. The family changes from immediate
household to extended household.
Dynamics of the family
Family dynamics is the way in which members of a family interact with
each other in relation to their individual goals and preferences. Although
the family is a unit, people are individuals. In order for a family unit to be
cohesive, all of the members must find some sort of balance between
personal interests and the best interests of the unit.

relationship.

Female/Male Roles (Changing or Static)

All men have some so-called feminine trafts, and all women have some so called
masculine trafts. And we may show different traits at different times. Our cultures
teach women and men to be the opposite of each other in many ways. The truth
is that we are more alike than different.
