With Onkyo’s latest Dock for the iPod, it’s now easy to incorporate the iPhone into your home entertainment system. The UP-A1
helps to expand the possibilities for enjoying your iPhone or iPod’s music, movies, TV shows, music videos, and video podcasts. It draws
a steady power supply from your compatible Onkyo AV receiver* via the same convenient cable that delivers video and audio signals to
the receiver. The UP-A1 also offers handy features found on previous Onkyo docks: recharging capability; onscreen display for content
navigation and selection; and remote operability via your A/V receiver’s remote controller. To bring proven Onkyo sound quality and the
potential of big-screen video playback to your iPhone or iPod, look no further than the UP-A1.

Integrating the iPhone and iPod Family with Onkyo Systems
The UP-A1 is the first Onkyo dock capable of linking the iPhone and iPhone
3G to compatible Onkyo A/V systems. It can also accommodate the iPod touch
(1st and 2nd generations), the iPod classic, 4th and 5th generation iPod models,
the iPod nano (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generations), the iPod photo, and the
iPod mini.
Easy Connecting via Universal Port
A single cable, featuring a proprietary 24-pin jack, connects the UP-A1 to your
compatible Onkyo A/V receiver. As well as carrying audio and video signals from
the dock to the receiver, the cable delivers a steady power supply from the
receiver to the dock. This way, you don’t need to worry about an extra power
cable cluttering up your entertainment space. The port also carries RI (Remote
Interactive) signals, so that you can operate the UP-A1 via your A/V receiver’s
remote controller.
Easily Plug and Play Your Portable Device
After docking your iPhone or iPod and pressing its playback button, the
connected A/V receiver’s selector will automatically switch to the appropriate
channel and begin outputting the content of your iPhone or iPod.
iPhone/iPod Video Playback
Connecting your compatible iPhone or iPod to the UP-A1 allows you to view
your stored movies, music videos, TV shows, and video podcasts on a connected
display. The UP-A1 facilitates a stable, high-quality video signal output at a
resolution of up to 1080i. It supports 480i and 576i output from current
models of the iPhone and iPod touch (1st generation), as well as 480p and
576p from the iPod nano (3rd and 4th generations), and iPod classic.
Recharge Your iPhone/iPod While Enjoying Your Music
The UP-A1 gets its power through the same cable that delivers audio and
video signals to your receiver. Your iPhone or iPod will be recharged as long as it
sits in the Dock—even if you’re simultaneously playing back a song or video.
Greater Convenience Through RI (Remote Interactive)
Compatibility
Since the UP-A1 can handle RI signals coming from your compatible A/V
receiver, you don’t need a separate remote controller to control your
connected iPhone or iPod. The RI feature lets you access the following key
functions: System On/System Off, Auto Power On, Direct Change, and
Sleep Timer.
Onscreen Display for Easier Navigation and Selection of Audio
and Video Content
In Extended Mode*, the UP-A1 incorporates an onscreen display (OSD)
function that enables you to easily navigate and select video and audio content
viewed on a connected display. Using this mode, you can browse your iPhone
or iPod content using the keys on your A/V receiver’s remote controller.
*Note: Extended Mode is available only on compatible A/V receivers. TX-SR607 and lower models
feature only Standard Mode (i.e. video signal pass-through).
