SILVA PALMEIRA

1934- Born in Santarem on the 19th May

1948- Works with decorative ceramics as a painter as well as a sculptor


Studies design and painting with Professor Ramos Ribeiro.

1953- First works under the guidance of Professor Ramos Ribeiro

195 - Exhibits in Goa in the First Exhibition of Plastic Arts

1959 - Enters the National Work Competition – Lisbon

1961- Enrols in the New Artists Gallery

1962- Exhibits in the Ribatejo House in Lisbon with the Theme Motives from Ribatejo

1963- First Individual Exhibition in the Tourist Gallery of Santarem where it organises and exhibition
featuring artists from Ribatejo

1964- Individual Exhibition at the Noble Gallery of the Harmonia Eborense Society in Evora

1965- Individual Exhibition Santarem


Collective Exhibition in Torres Novas
Decides to travel to Paris in order to study and expand is aesthetic Horizon’s

1966- Visits the Louvre, the Museum of Modern Art, the Tulleries Pavillion, as well as attending to retrospectives of Picasso
and Pignon.
Also visits exhibitions in Paris- Prague- Belgium and Spain, where it leaves some of his works in private collections.

1967- Returns from Paris and takes temporary residence in the fishing village of Nazare where it keeps a studio
Enters the collective exhibition of Monte-Real and the Municipal Tourist Commission of Nazare.
