Overview
CompareExportsareusefulwhenyouwanttooutputtheresultsofahierarchycomparisonprocess,whichidentifiesdifferencesinnodes,relationships,orpropertiesbetweentwohierarchies
ortwoversionsofthesamehierarchy.Forexample,youexportthedifferencesforahierarchybetweenthecurrentnormalversionanditsbaselineversion.
Forthistypeofexport,configuretheexportwizardtabsasfollows:
SourceSelecttwohierarchiesinthesameversionorindifferentversions.Youcanselectnormal,baseline,orasofversions.
StyleSelectajoinpropertytouseforcomparisonpurposes,andselectthetypesofdifferencesthatyouwanttoexport.
FilterDefineaqueryorvalidation.Onlynodesthatmeetthequerycriteriaorthatfailthevalidationareexported.Aninclusionqueryfiltersthenodestobeincludedinthecomparison.An
exclusionqueryfiltersthenodesafterthecomparison.
ColumnsSelectpropertiesforoutputcolumnsintheexport.Youcanselectversion,hierarchy,global,andlocalnodeproperties,andyoucanincludeasmanypropertiesasneeded.For
example,youmaywanttoincludeanode'sname,description,andparentnodename.
TargetSpecifywhethertoexportresultstoaclientfile,aserverfile,oradatabasetable.Ifyouexporttoadatabasetable,youmustalsospecifythedatabasetable.
