The EPA reports that showering accounts
m for 17% of residential indoor water use.
m In March, the EPA released their
WaterSense specifications to
manufacturers, who will have to have
 showerheads and handshowers made
within their specifications. What does
this mean to American households who are reportedly using four times more

water than European households? It means lower water flow for our beloved
morning ritual. Manufacturers are working hard to maintain low water flow,
 but focus on the amount of air in the showerhead to keep the showering
experience a relaxing one. Danze and Delta are both offering a showerhead
 that has a 1.5 gallon per minute water flow that fit within the WaterSense
Guidelines. Kholer is offering a handshower that operates at 1.75 gallons per
J minute ± 30% less than conventional handshowers. The EPA would also like
to suggest that consumers can save water in other ways as well: turn off the
