PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED IF YOU GET AN OFFER

1. Get the offer by SMS/ Email/ JAM 2016 Webpage

2. Log into JOAPS using Enrollment ID and Password
3. You will see the offer details and be able to download the Offer Documents
a. Offered Programme Name
b. Offered Programme ID
c. Admitting Institute
d. Whether your offer is PROVISIONAL or not.
4. There would be three Radio Buttons for you to select:
a. Accept and Freeze:
i. Choose this option if you want to accept the present offer but DO NOT
want to upgrade to your higher options (if any) in further rounds (if any).
ii. Once you have chosen this, OTP will be sent to your registered mobile
number and you have to enter the OTP to confirm.
iii. Once you confirm with OTP, you would be directed for payment.
iv. Pay the Seat Booking Fee of Rs. 10,000/- for General/ OBC(NCL)/ Foreign
National applicants and Rs. 5,000/- for SC/ ST/ PwD applicants. Depending
on the mode of payment, additional charges may apply. There is No Echallan mode of payment.
v. Download the Response to Admission Offer form.
vi. Verify the details and sign the Response to Admission Offer form and send
the scanned copy by email to jamadm@iitm.ac.in and hard copy by post to
the Organizing Chair, JAM 2016, IIT Madras, Chennai - 600036. The other
Offer Documents should be filled and submitted to Admitting Institute
when you report for admission.
b. Accept With Upgrade:
i. Choose this option if you want to accept the present offer and want to
upgrade to your higher options in further rounds (if any).
ii. Pay the Seat Booking Fee of Rs. 10,000/- for General/ OBC(NCL)/ Foreign
National applicants and Rs. 5,000/- for SC/ ST/ PwD applicants. Depending
on the mode of payment, additional charges may apply. There is No Echallan mode of payment.
iii. Download the Response to Admission Offer form.
iv. Verify the details and sign the Response to the Offer form and send the
scanned copy by email to jamadm@iitm.ac.in and hard copy by post to the
Organizing Chair, JAM 2016, IIT Madras, Chennai - 600036. The other
Offer Documents should be filled and submitted to Admitting Institute
when you report for admission.

c. Reject and Quit:

i. Choose this option if you DO NOT want to accept the present offer and opt
out of the JAM 2016 Admission process.
ii. Once you have chosen this, OTP will be sent to your registered mobile
number and you have to enter the OTP to confirm.
iii. Once you confirm with OTP, you would be able to download the Response
to Admission Offer form. Verify the details and Sign the Response to
Admission Offer form and send the scanned copy by email to
jamadm@iitm.ac.in and hard copy by post to the Organizing Chair, JAM
2016, IIT Madras, Chennai - 600036.
5. PROVISIONAL OFFERS
Your offer will be PROVISIONAL, if you have either not fulfilled the eligibility
requirement (ER) or minimum educational qualification (MEQ) or do not submit the
required documents (if any). If your offer is PROVISIONAL, complete the Undertaking
form (one of the Offer Documents) and submit to Admitting Institute while reporting for
admission.
6. WITHDRAW OPTION FOR ACCEPT * DECISIONS (Accepted the offer (either
using Accept with Upgrade or Accept and Freeze) and paid the Seat Booking Fee):
If you want to withdraw from the offer, you can do so by
i. Log into JOAPS and select WITHDRAW during June 20th to 25th, 2016.
ii. You will receive an OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
iii. Once you confirm with OTP, you would be able to download the Response to
Admission Offer form.
iv. Verify and sign the Response to Admission Offer form and send the scanned copy
by email to jamadm@iitm.ac.in and hard copy by post to the Organizing Chairman,
JAM 2016, IIT Madras, Chennai 600036.
v. JAM 2016 will refund the Seat Booking Fee paid by you after deducting a sum of
Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One thousand only) as Processing Fee. The amount will be
credited to your account (Credit Card or Netbanking) in a reasonable period of time.
Please note that: WITHDRAW option will be available only upto June, 25th, 2016.
7. SEAT BOOKING FEE
a. Once you select Accept* on the offer, you will be directed to pay the Seat
Booking Fee of Rs. 10,000/- for General/ OBC(NCL)/ Foreign National applicants
and Rs. 5,000/- for SC/ ST/ PwD applicants. Additional charges may apply
depending on the mode of payment.
b. After accepting the offer, if you DO NOT report for admission without opting for
withdraw within the due date, then JAM 2016 will not refund the Seat Booking
Fee.
c. If you withdraw following the procedure mentioned in (6), JAM 2016 will refund
the Seat Booking Fee paid by you after deducting a sum of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One

thousand only) as Processing Fee. The amount will be credited to your account
(Credit Card or Netbanking) in a reasonable period of time.
8. NO RESPONSE TO OFFER
The Admission Process considers No Response from the applicant who got an offer of seat
if, Applicant does not select any of the three choices within the stipulated date mentioned
in the offer and does not complete the payment of Seat Booking Fee within the stipulated
date mentioned in the offer.
Applicants who do not respond to the offer, will NOT be considered further in the JAM
2016 admission process.

9. IMPORTANT NOTE FOR UPGRADED OFFER

If an Applicant receives an Upgraded Offer in the Second or Final round, the earlier offer(s)
are NO longer valid. The Applicant should log into JOAPS and choose any one of the three
options (Accept&Freeze or Accept with Ugrade (only for Second Round) or Reject&Quit)
as if it is a fresh offer. Once the Applicant chooses Accept* decision, they need not have
to pay once again the Seat Booking Fee.
If the Applicant, who gets the Upgraded Offer, do NOT respond or opted for Reject&Quit,
then their Upgraded Offer is also cancelled and they will NOT be considered in the
Admission Process further.
NOTE:
1. Organizing Institute will not respond to the queries about eligibility requirement and
minimum educational qualification. Please contact Admitting Institutes for the same.
2. Any multiple payments by you will be refunded once the admission process is over.

When the candidates, who have accepted and paid the Seat Booking Fee wants to withdraw, they will
login to JOAPS.
The welcome page indicates the offered course and their selection.
You were offered <Course_id> and you selected <Accept*> decision and confirmed by payment. If you
want to withdraw you can select <Withdraw> during June 20th and 25th, 2016.
Withdraw button is highlighted during the period on the welcome page after login.
