Introduction
1.1 Background
The basic purpose of the text narrative is to entertain and Attract
readers with a story or event that has the problem that lead to conflict and at
the end of the story is no resolution or a happy ending, or even depressing.
Actual narrative text is not focus to the mystical story, fiction, legend, fairy
tale or fable, but another story in the form of adventure, mystery and all forms
of story. In essence, narrative text is about the story. But the lesson in school,
the genre of narrative text is usually only used to indicate a fiction such as
fairy tales or legends.

1.2 Definition of Narrative

Narrative text is a story with complications or problematic events
and try to find a resolution to solve the problem and purpose to
entertain readers

1.3 Kinds of Narrative

There are several kinds of narrative form. These kinds are based on the
story types. The types of narratives are:

1. Fable : Simple fable is a story about animal which behave like human
2. Fairytales : Story which relate much which magic things

3.Folktale : A tale or legend originating and traditional among a people or

folk, especially forming part of the oral tradition of the common
people.

4. Epic : An epic tale is a literary work about a hero, amazing adventures or an otherwise
intense or amazing story.

5. Legend : It simple a story which relates to on how a place is formed

6. Biographies : A biography is the story of a person's life, written by another.

Also known as life-writing and history of the life

1.4 Social Function of Narrative

The social function is to entertain or amuse the reader or
listener.
II. Analysis
2.1 orientation
The orientation includes characters, time, and place. The
characters are Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, Paul and Clara Jobs, Abdul
Fattah Jandali and Joanne Carole Schieble. The place where the story
took place is in San Francisco, California.
Steven Paul Jobs was born on 24 February 1955 in San
Francisco, California, to students Abdul Fattah Jandali and Joanne
Carole Schieble who were unmarried at the time and gave him up for
adoption. He was taken in by a working class couple, Paul and Clara
Jobs, and grew up with them in Mountain View, California.

2.2 Complication
However, by early 1985, sales decreased, but Steve Jobs
refused to acknowledge it and continued to behave as if he had saved
Apple. This created a lot of tension within the company, especially
between Steve and the CEO, John Sculley. In May 1985, Steve Jobs
started trying to convince some directors and top executives at Apple
that Sculley should go. Instead, many of them talked to Sculley, who
took the matter to the board of directors. The board sided with Sculley
and a few days later, announced a reorganization of the company
where Steve Jobs had no operational duties. He was fired from apple.
After four months spent traveling and trying new ideas, he came back
in September with a plan: he would start a new computer company,
with former employees of other apple. When Apple made a new idea,
they declared they would sue him as he was taking valuable
information about the company to compete with it. As a result, Steve
Jobs resigned in September 1985. He went ahead with his new plan,
and build a company NeXT. Apple dropped its lawsuit a few months
later.

2.3 Resolution
In 1996 Apple bought NeXT and Jobs returned to Apple,
became CEO.
With the help of his friend Jonathan Ive, Jobs returned to the company
and released the iMac in 1998. Then release the mp3, and followed
the iPod in 2001, and launched the iPhone in 2007 and the iPad in
 2010. The company's software music player, iTunes, evolved into an
online music store, helped to popularize the idea of "legally"
downloading entertainment content.
In 2003, Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and
underwent surgery in 2004. Despite the success of this operation he
became increasingly ill and received a liver transplant in 2009. He
returned to work after a six month break but eventually resigned his
position in August 2011 after another period of medical leave which
began in January 2011. He died on 5 October 2011.

2.4 Tenses
Tenses that are used is mostly simple past tense. It can be past
simple, past perfect. for example: Steven Paul Jobs was born on 24
February 1955 in San Francisco, California. Who were unmarried at the
time and gave him up for adoption. And past perfect for the example:
he had saved Apple. Past continuous tense, the example: he was taking
valuable information about the company to compete with it
