Sir David Storey (18 August 1856 27 July 1924) was an Australian politician. He was born in County Monaghan, Ireland, to farmer Robert Storey and Margaret Co lvin. After working for Lindsay Brothers Ltd he emigrated to Sydney in 1879, ent ering business as a department manager. He entered into his own partnership in 1 881 and founded his own business in 1884, trading softgoods. Around 1883, in Lei th, Scotland, he married Rachael Agnes Doig, with whom he had three sons. He was actively involved in the free trade movement, serving as secretary of the Freet rade and Land Reformist League. In 1894 he was elected to the New South Wales Le gislative Assembly as the Free Trade member for Randwick. He joined the Liberal Reform Party in 1901 and was involved in the foundation of the Nationalist Party in 1917. He was an honorary minister from 1916 to 1919, when he became Minister for Public Health. In 1920 he was elevated to the New South Wales Legislative C ouncil.
