Comments:
Participation Rubric Explanation
Approximately every week, you will be asked to assess your progress in seminar
discussion. You will fill out the following seminar progress report and have the ability to
write comments explaining why you feel you have earned the grade that you have
selected. For each of the five categories, you will be asked to circle the grade that
represents what you have been able to accomplish. I will then collect your assessment
and respond to it with your participation grade for each weekly section of the course.
This allows you to be aware of where you are as far as participation in seminar discussion
is concerned throughout the quarter and semester. This also allows you to either improve
if necessary instead of being disappointed by your grade at the end of the
quarter/semester, or maintain a level of participation that you are satisfied with.
Remember, participation makes up 30% of your grade.
