Curriculum Goal: Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences
or events using effective technique, descriptive details, and clear event
sequences.
Learning Objectives: Use dialogue and descriptions of actions, thoughts,
and feelings to develop experiences and events or show the response of
characters to situations.
Equipment Needed/Materials: Notebook for rough draft, pencils,
instruction sheet, third-grade reading material (reference for dialogue),
computer or an iPad with keyboard, Microsoft Word, and a dictionary.
Lesson Summary: This writing assignment will be focused on writing a
narrative and being able to type it up. The students will first write a story,
real or not, in their notebooks, or with a teacher. After they have a developed
story with dialogue and descriptions of the characters they will do a peer
review and help develop their peers stories. They will then take their story to
the computer and type it up.
Integration of Technology: They have to use basic typing skills and
understanding of Microsoft Word. As they type their story, they will need
formatting and layout knowledge. This will all integrate Microsoft Word.

Lesson Summary: The students will have already learned about the
constitution. They will be using PowerPoint to showcase images of who they
think are the 5 main writers of the constitution. Using the tools they have
learned they will hyperlink a menu of the names to pictures of the people.
Integration of Technology: They will be integrating their knowledge of
PowerPoint to their studies of the founding fathers.
