Introduccin (acerca de los sacrificios) Y respuesta

para pregunta 1 y 2

Prayer is a form of communication with a deity or other

spiritual being. Words addressed to a deity usually offer praise
or seek guidance, blessing, forgiveness, fertility, victory, or
protection. Like prayer, sacrifice is a form of communication
with a deity for similar purposes. The word itself means "to
make holy."

Historians, however, have often regarded blood sacrifice as

the most powerful way to appease the gods.

As distinct from prayer, sacrificial offerings include objects of

value and symbolic significance that are given to the gods to
earn their favor. The gifts can take many forms, becoming
sacred themselves through ritual consecration. The gods
might be offered the most desirable foods or provided with the
finest vessels, carvings, tools, and weapons.
Fertilidad y cosecha (Respuesta para pregunta 1)

fertility, death and sacrifice are connected. The

husking of the corn is perceived as the same act as
the tearing out of a sacrificial victims heart, both
accomplished with the obsidian blade.

With the martyred death of the sacrificial victim,

the fertile blood seed, like the grain, brings life
anew to the world. And, thus, the circle is
complete. The death of the old grain, the old sun,
the old season, feeds the continuing life of the
people. The death of a representative person is
then offered in obeisance as repayment of the
ultimate debt of life. Death feeds life feeds death,
the enduring saga of the eternal cycle of survival.

Qu es un ritual para la fertilidad en

la Tierra?

The rites are supposed to promote the generative forces in

the earth and ceremonies may be used in cultivating the
land as well as creating a new life. The Columbia
Encyclopedia states that the rites are practices that seek to
control forces of nature that are beyond human control.

Symbolism is a common theme across the board and the

ceremonies are usually filled with symbolic materials,
mantras, and practices.

Symbolism is abundant in fertility rituals and practices

may include sacred dramas that represent birth, life, and
death. For example, in pagan mythology, the earth
goddess searches for her lost child (or dead child) in a
sacred drama about the cycle of life. Other symbols
include:
Fire (symbolizes the sun)
Phallic symbols
Animals
Hazelnuts
Fruit
Flowers
Eggs
