Troels Flensted
TROELS FLENSTED

Troels Flensted (1987) was educated from Central Saint Martins in

London. After graduating in 2014 he moved back to his native Denmark
and founded his design studio in January 2015.

Flensteds experimental studio is exploring the potential within material

behaviour, colours and manufacturing processes, and finds inspiration
in the aesthetic and undiscovered possibilities derived from combining
the three. His work is often minimalistic in its shape, allowing the mate-
rials own characteristics to shine. This approach has led to exciting
projects and commissions for both privates and companies.

Flensteds work has been exhibited at some of the most respected

design fairs across Europe, including; 100% design, designjunction,
northmodern, Eindhoven Design Week, Stockholm Design Week and
Maison & Objet Paris where he was awarded the Talent la Carte
Award.

THE NEW ARTISAN

The New Artisan exists to help young design
talent gain opportunities in the burgeoning
Oriental market. It is about blending old and
new traditional and often niche craft meets
a very modern economic opportunity and a
brand-new audience.

Who We Are
The New Artisan was founded by two UK-based Chinese who share a love
for high-end handicrafts and lament the increasing loss of centuries-old tra-
ditions for meticulous, skilful methods of creating such works. They set out
to find the artisans of today the New Artisans with the passion to contin-
ue these arts. Together they decided to establish an innovative platform for
bringing together designers and Chinese customers, creating a commercial
opportunity in handicraft that its exponents through the centuries could
never have imagined.

We understand the new Chinese generation and that most of

them, like us, have experiences of studying aboard. They have
all developed that individual consciousness and interest for
seeking new quality products with unique, high-end designs

think, and as consumers, what they want.

wants to support more emerging designers and artisans
offering unique brands. We are passionate in seeking tal-
ented designers for products to expose to the growing Chi-
