As per IS 3370 (Part 1) 2009 Concrete Structures for Storage of liquids Code of practice.

On Page no 12 , It is only and clearly written that The minimum ventilation shall be ensured.

As per MJP Practice 1 no of caul type ventilator should be provided for 16 sqm area of roof slab of sump.

Total roof slab area : 66 m x 35m = 2310 sqm, Hence no of ventilators = 2310 / 16 = 144 no (Equispaced)

Caul Type CI ventilator, 100 dia

Roof Slab

And this is essentially a structural design issue.

The vents indicated on the pure water sump are atmospheric vents. I request you to indicate these atmospheric vent
size calculations. Further, you are aware that no mechanical fans will be used for sump venting.

Please furnish the atmospheric vent size calculations indicated on the pure water sump. .

Dear sir,

Please confirm the following:

1. As per P&ID the waste back wash water pipeline size from filters to Wash water recirculation sump is indicated
as 1000 dia RCC NP2 pipe (KCon drg No. 263) , where as in GA for wash water disposal arrangement (Kcon drg
No. 275), the size is indicated as 1100dia RCC NP2. Please confirm the correct size.
Diam 1100mm, as mentioned in Dr No.275 is correct
2. Please furnish the Vent size calculation for Pure water sump.
Volume of P. W. Sump is 8000 cum. Air changes recommended are 5. Total air rate =
40,000 cum/hr ( Sump empty). No of exhaust fans = 6 (six), Capacity of each fan = 40,000 /
6 = 6667 cum/hr

Also please note that IE approved the revised Process calculation for WTP, P&ID and HFD on 4-5-2016.
