UniBeastisatoolthatcreatesabootableinstalleroutofyourdownloadedversionofOSX.Inorderto
startfresh,you'llneedaccesstoafunctionalcomputerrunningMacOSXSnowLeopard10.6.8or
later.Thisisarequirement,asyouneedaccesstotheMacAppStoretodownloadOSXandcreate
theinstallationdrive.Tostartfromscratch,bootingthe10.6SnowLeopardRetailDVDdirectly,check
outiBoot+MultiBeast.

STEP1:DownloadOSXYosemite

Thefulloperatingsystemisafreedownloadforanyonewhohas
purchasedMacOSXSnowLeopard,Lion,orMountainLion,oraMac
preloadedwithMavericks.DownloadtheApplicationfromtheMacApp
StoreusingyourAppleIDonanyMacorfunctionalcomputerrunning
MacOSX10.6.8orlater.

1. OpenMacAppStore
2. LoginwithyourAppleID
3. DownloadOSXYosemite

TheApplicationInstallOSXYosemitewillappearin/Applications.

STEP2:CreateaBootableUSBDrivewithUniBeast

Takeadeepbreathandtakeyourtimethisisprettysimple,butit's
easytomissthingsifyourush.Followeachsteptotheletter.

2. Open/Applications/Utilities/DiskUtility

USBKeyboardwhilethesystemisbootingup
2. LoadOptimizedDefaults
3. IfyourCPUsupportsVTd,disableit
4. IfyoursystemhasCFGLock,disableit
5. IfyoursystemhasSecureBootMode,disableit
6. SetOSTypetoOtherOS
7. Saveandexit.

STEP4:InstallOSXYosemite

You'realmostdone!AllyouneedtodoisbootfromtheUSBdrive
andinstall!

1. Turnonthecomputer
2. Pressthehotkeytochoosebootdevice(usuallyF12
orF8)
3. ChooseUSBHDD
4. AttheChimeraBootScreen,chooseUSBandhit
Enter

Ifyouhavetroublereachingtheinstaller,typexattheBootscreenasshownbelow.Youcantype
thebootflagsGraphicsEnabler=Yes,PCIRootUID=1,maxmem=4096,maxmem=8192,and
npci=0x2000bythemselvesortogetherinordertosolvebootissuesforoldergraphicscardsand
machines.TypevtobypasstheApplebootscreenandenterverbosestartupmode.X58andX79
systemsalwaysneednpci=0x2000.Forfurtherexplanationsofbootflags,checkouttheposthere.

8.Uponcompletion,restartthesystem.

STEP5:PostInstallationUsingMultiBeast

MultiBeastisanallinonepostinstallationtooldesignedtoenableboot
fromharddrive,andinstallsupportforAudio,Network,andGraphics.
InadditionitincludesSystemUtilitiestorepairpermissionsanda
collectionofdriversandconfigfiles.Theinstallationiscomplete,but
thedriveisn'tbootableyet.BootfromtheUSBagain,thistime
choosingYosemite.
