The scheme leaves the original features intact and the design is
an insertion of new elements to contrast with the existing fabric of
the building. The buildings heritage is reflected in the use of the
chevron pattern which draws its inspiration from the insignia on
military uniforms. Bespoke tables in solid oak have the chevron
pattern screen printed directly on the surface.

Brief
The brief was to turn this 370 square metre arch space into a
venue that allowed visitors to enjoy Felix Topolskis artworks.
This was to incorporate a counter bar and seating for Company
of Cooks food offer whilst creating an aesthetic that reflected
Topolskis utilitarian artistic approach.

The ground floor bar and restaurant areas were slightly below
street level and landlocked between a church and tall office
buildings. Although there were many windows, it felt dark and
soulless. There was no visual connection between the ground
floor and basement room, and a network of bland corridors and

Brief
The brief was to re-develop the existing Ping Pong brand and
deliver a new experience for customers. Working alongside the
new branding re-vamp that had recently been completed prior to
us coming on board.
Challenges
All of the loose furniture including table and chairs are all bespoke
designs within the restaurant. Our biggest challenge was
developing the new family of furniture chair, dim sum stool, bar
stool, and tables with our manufactures in China and streamlining
the prototypes before launching.

As far as we know this is the first ceramic bar of its kind. This fully
operation bar weighs 1.8 tons. The wall sculpture spans for over
12 meters, made of 1854 pressed aluminium triangles, weighs
only 200 kg. The bar designed with Laufen products with a
changeable top which enables them to replace the top trays with
new products. The ceramic bar top acts as a fantastic insulating
material and does not transfer the cold temperature from the
ice trays.

Brief
The brief was for a flagship venue for the Industry Beans coffee
label within a 200 square metre factory shell. The venue required
a caf dining area, commercial kitchen, external covered seating,
administration and also commercial roasting facilities including
cupping and coffee bean storage areas.

Results
Stacking the staff and admin areas above the kitchen and
service counter, we essentially created a building within a
building. Internally, the double height pallet faade gives the
sense of entering an intimate laneway space - something that
is quintessentially Melbourne. Both internal faade and front
polycarbonate faade feature pivoting and flipping panels to
create a playful habitation while naturally ventilating the
warehouse space.
