Rocket Body
Tube - Too narrow and carry lots of weight
Water Bottle - Perfect size, easy to find and much lighter
Launcher
Adjustable - Kept the 45 but can still be able to rotates 360
Convenience - Easy to carry around; lightweight and can be handle easily
Durable - strong; withstand the strength of the rockets movement
Good Base - Gain a stable balance
Unique - Different design incorporating creativity

Methods (assembling rocket)
Launch Rocket Rocket :
The Launch Path:
1) Putting clay inside the rocket head.
1) Connect all the pvc to make 3 face of hexagon for 2) Using tape to hold the cone with the bottle.
the both side 3) Cutting the future boards to make wing.
2) Connect both side together by using the long tube 4) Using duct tape to stick fins with the bottle.
connect at the upper middle
3) Connect the Pvc to produce the Y shape
4) Connect with the base that we have done before
this will make the base for the rocket.
5) Paste the launcher path which is the form sheet at
the middle of the Y shape and then glue it to the
PVC
Procedures
During the experiment :

1) Filling rocket with vinegar.

2) In a stocking, insert baking soda inside.

3) Put the stocking inside the bottle.

4) Insert cork at the mouth of the bottle.

Discussion of Design
ROCK
2 main goals were trying to achieve:

-
ET
Aerodynamic Features
- Exterior Appearance

Weve talked about the shape,

materials, sizes as well as other
factors that may affect the movement
of the rocket, these includes distance,
height and angels.
Discussion of Design
- 45-degrees angle with the ground
LAUN
- Launcher head : Adjustable 360-degrees
- Strong base to resist the power of the
CHER
rocket when it burst
- Portable
- Light-weight
- Creativity
- Possible to Assemble
Questions

What happen when vinegar react with baking soda?

- Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate and the vinegar is Acetic acid yield Carbon
Dioxide, the carbon dioxide will produced by adding water with the sodium
bicarbonate and the Acetic acid together. The carbon dioxide will escape the solution
as bubbles. The carbon dioxide will produced to filled up the container.
Questions
Discuss what cause the error from this experiment chemistry term?

- The error occurred because the reaction is not complete. Some of the
reagent was left over and also some of the product which is the carbon
dioxide gas was leaked, so the rocket cant fly as far as the theoretical
calculation.

Suggest how to improve your accuracy.

- In order to improve the accuracy, we need to use a cock that is best fit
to the bottle in order to make sure that there will be no gas leaking out
of the bottle, so that the density of the gas in the rocket will produce at
the point where it will perfectly lands on the target, and we can make
the chemical reaction more accurate.
Discussion
Newtons Three law of motion

1 st law - A rocket will remain in its place until the external force
acting on it.

2 nd law - The amount of force depends upon how much the

reaction take place. You can increase the reaction by adding more
baking soda and vinegar, which increase the mass of the rocket.

3 rd law - The action force of the carbon dioxide inside the bottle
rushes out creates an equal and opposite reaction force propelling
the rocket upward.
Discussion
Linear motion (freefall)

- After rocket has launched and reached the highest point it will begin
a free fall which the force will depend of the gravity.

Projectile

- Rocket flew in the air creating a parabola which mean that the
rocket move in the projectile motion.

Impulse and momentum

- Momentum is amount of mass in motion. It is usually given the

symbol p. By definition p=m x v. Impulse is a term that quantifies
the overall effect of a force acting overtime.
Discussion
ENERGY!
- Work is done whenever a force moves something. It can be
found by multiplying the force with the distance.

- Power is the rate at which work is done. It is work/time ratio.

- All moving object will have the energy called kinetic energy (KE).
The KE of an objects is depends on its mass and speed by the
equation mv^2.

- Potential energy is the stored energy of position possessed by

an object. It is given in the form of PE=mgh (mass x gravity x
height)
data
Analysis of Data
Analysis

- There was only one trial that landed inside the target and the rest arent. Some flew over
the target and some didnt reach the target.

The Error

- Not enough solution in order to make it place directly on the target, this is the main
problem Example trial 1, 2, 10, and 11
- some error in adjusting the degree Example trial 9 (The rocket change for a long time and
it went really far)
- The wind blew strongly, or it might happen because some trial the angle of the rocket is
too low or too high
- The rocket body might resist to the wind and this will cause resistance to the moving of
the rocket.

Conclusion
Expectations:
- Landing on the Target
- Using reasonable amount of chemicals

Importance:
- Cork
- Tighten it
- Too Loose: Leakage of chemicals
- Too tight: Difficulty in launching

What did we learn?

- Learn through the mistakes weve received
- Planning
- Building
- Collaborating
- Shooting
- Incorporating Stoichiometry
- Be a TEAM and never give up...because the best is yet to come
