RESULTING TO DEATH OF CASSANDRA ALONZO DEQUIT OOA 2300H
FEBRUARY 2017 AT 390 MAKALAGOT ST. BRGY. SUDAPIN KIDAPAWAN
CITY.

III. FACTS OF THE CASE:

8. OOA 11:00 oclock in the evening of February 9, 2017 Celestino J.


Magbanua, 50 years old, married, a Barangay Captain of Brgy. Sudapin Kidapawan City
reported and seek the assistance of Kidapawan City Police Station on the alleged
Parricide incident at 390 Makalagot St. Brgy. Sudapin Kidapawan City. SPO1 Christian
Neyra together with his team was dispatched and returned to the station.

Upon confrontation of KCPS-CPAC4, CASSANDRA ALONZO DEQUIT, 35 years old,


resident of 390 Makalagot St. Brgy. Sudapin, Kidapawan City was killed by her husband
identified as JOEL PERLA DEQUIT, 38 years old, married and a resident of the
aforementioned place. On February 9, 2017 around 10:45 in the evening Joed came
home late as his wife Cassandra welcomed him in rage and this started a heated
altercation between them. Joed then pulls his fist and punched Cassandra in her
abdomen and the victim loss her consciousness, still enraged Joed went to his car and
returned with a .9mm pistol and a small pillow. He covers the pillow on her face to
decrease the amount of noise that the gun might produce, and he then pulls the trigger
of the gun. Several witnesses are present during the commission of the crime proving
the suspects guilt. (Hereto attached the copy of the excerpt from LCPS-CPO Blotter

9. The cadaver of the victim was recovered inside the garage.


According to the autopsy conducted by the medico legal Dr. Angela Ramos, the cause
of her death was carniocerebral injury secondary to gunshot wound which penetrated
her brain tissue. (Hereto attached the copy of the excerpt from LCPS-CPO Blotter Entry

In the investigation conducted by Kidapawan City police officers in the alleged Parricide.
The investigators gather more relevant information that can proved the identity of the
alleged suspect JOED P. DEQUIT. Interview conducted on Jerry C. Gayat, 47 years old,
a barangay tanod who is on a patrol around Makalagot St. May nakita kaming itim na
SUV ng kasama ko sa tapat ng bahay ng biktima, may lalaking bumababa sa SUV,
sakto din na binuksan ng biktima yung gate ng bahay nila, mukhang nagkasagutan sila
at bigla nalang sinuntok sya ng lalaki sa tiyan at natumba siya, tapos bumalik yung
lalaki sa sasakyan, parang may kinuha siya, binalikan niya yung babae, tinakpan niya
ng unan yung mukha nito at saka niya ito pinagbabaril, pagkatapos nun, dali-dali niyang
isinarado ang gate nila bigla nalang siyang umalis. Pinuntahan ko kaagad si kapitan
para tawagan ang mga pulis, samantalang humingi naman ng tulong yung kasama ko
sa mga kapit-bahay ng biktima (Hereto attached the copy of the excerpt from LCPS-

Another statement was given by the witness identified as Joselito G. Bustamante, 30


years old, married and he quoted. Nakita ko si Joed nung gabing yun, bandang alas-
onse nang magtapon ako ng basura sa labas, pagkatapos niyang isarado ang gate may
tinapon siyang unan sa basurahan at dali-dali siyang sumakay sa loob ng SUV, ng
umalis ang sasakyan niya, papasok na sana ako sa bahay ng biglang nag-sisigaw ang
isang tanod at humihingi ng tulong dahil may napatay kaming kapit-bahay (Hereto

A statement was given by the younger sister of the victim, identified as Carmela T.
Alonzo, 30 years old and a resident of 393 Maligaya Subd. Lanao Kidapawan City and
she quoted. Nakatanggap ako ng text galing kay ate ng gabing yun at nagsumbong na
gagabihin nanaman si kuya Joed. Madalas naman siyang nagsusumbong sa akin, hindi
maganda ang relasyon ng ate ko sa asawa niya lalo pat nahuli ng ate ko na nambabae

The investigators located the suspects whereabouts at 493 Sinsuat St. Poblacion
Kidapawan City, identified as JOED P. DEQUIT, saying that he can provide a strong alibi
for his innocence and that he has nothing to do with the commission of the crime as he
quoted Hindi ako ang pumatay sa asawa ko dahil ng mga oras na yun hindi ako umuwi
sa bahay, ditto ako natulog sa pinapatapos naming bahay, sigurado akong nagkamali
lang sila at hindi lang ako ang may sasakyang itim na SUV (Hereto attached the copy

10. Follow up investigation was conducted by the police investigators


in the crime scene at 390 Makalagot St. Brgy. Sudapin Kidapawan City, the concrete
floor of garage was covered in blood and three (3) .9mm fired cartridges scattered
around and also a white small round pillow with blood and gunpowder residue that is
retrieve in the trashcan. During the investigation, the investigators found that Joed
owned a [.9mm] semi-automatic pistol. The Forensic Ballistic result made a positive
association between the fired ammunition and the suspected firearm.

11. That accordingly, the said suspect JOED P. DEQUIT is responsible


for the shooting and killing of CASSANDRA A. DEQUIT, 35 years old and a resident of
390 Makalagot St. Brgy. Sudapin, Kidapawan City. Then and there the suspect were
subsequently placed inside KCPS lock-up cell while waiting for the appropriate charges
filed in court.

IV. CONCLUSION:
12. That on or about 11:00 in the evening of February 9, 2017 at 390
Makalagot St. Brgy. Sudapin Kidapawan City. This office relied on the testimonies of the
witnesses particularly Jerry C. Gayat, having witnessed the shooting incident as well to
Joselito G. Bustamante who saw the suspect flee. Both of them positively identified the
suspect JOED P. DEQUIT as the person who shot the victim, Cassandra. The said
suspect armed with [.9mm] handgun pistol with intent to kill, did then and there willfully,
unlawfully and feloniously attack, assault and shot CASSANDRA A. DEQUIT, his
legitimate wife, thereby inflicting gunshot wound upon the latter, which directly caused
her death. Parricide case was charged to JOED P. DEQUIT under Article 246 of the
RPC with all the elements presented as follows:
1. A person is killed;
2. The deceased is killed by the accused;
3. The deceased is the father, mother, or child, whether legitimate or
illegitimate other ascendant or other descendant, or the legitimate spouse
of the accused.

V. RECOMMENDATION:

13. That based on the foregoing facts presented the culprit identified as JOED
P. DEQUIT, 37 years old, legitimate husband of the victim and a resident of 390
Makalagot St. Brgy. Sudapin, Kidapawan City shall be deemed liable for the crime of
Parricide under Article 246 of the Revise Penal Code for killing his legitimate wife
Cassandra Alonzo Dequit, 35 days old, and a resident of the aforementioned place. The
prosecution witness is recommended to attend the court proceeding in order for the
victim to have justice.

VI. REMARKS

15. The case shall now referred to the Kidapawan City Prosecutors office in
order to verify the case file thereof. The suspect shall be penalize if proven guilty upon
final judgment and disposition of the prosecution thereof.
