Earth And The Moon 360 Book

Seigensha Art Publishing 2016 ISBN 9784861525513 Acqn 26758
Hb 12x12cm 40pp col ills 29.95

Earth, our home planet, came into existence as the third planet in the solar system 4.6 billion
years ago. A catastrophic collision with another large celestial body sent scattered pieces of both
into the void, which would eventually gather to form the Moon 100 million years later. The Moons
gravitational pull gave rise to tides on Earth, and from this primordial ocean life emerged. Since
mankinds very beginnings, the Moon has been a symbol of our dreams and faith. Human
ventured into space and witnessed our blue planet for the first time in 1961, and landed on the
Moon itself in 1969. This three-dimensional panorama book celebrates our perpetual skyward
gaze.

Exploring The Space For Design Research Between I-we-do-think

ArtEZ Press 2016 ISBN 9789491444456 Acqn 27240
Pb 14x21cm 136pp 30ills 10.75

Authored by Jeroen van den Eijnde, professor of product and interior design at ArtEZ Institute of
the Arts, this book explores how scientific thinking and artisanal making are inextricably linked.
Based on the fact that the regulations at some universities in the Netherlands make it possible to
obtain a doctoral degree with artistic work, this book discusses both Van den Eijndes views on
the type of research he advocates in an art college and why this type of research by artistically
motivated product and interior designers is important for people and society as a whole. Part
personal history, part theoretical analysis, the experiences he shares are quite topical for the
design field.

Pb 21x26cm 288pp 284ills 31.50

founded in 1996 by Barbara Forni, Cristiano Bottino, and Sergio Menichelli. Each one is
essentially a fragment of more complex and articulated projects. Presented in this way, they take
on lives of their own, becoming characters independent of the design contexts in which they were
created. The subjects are ordered randomly, or in relation to simple visual similarities or pictorial
graphic systems, and only two colours (purple and green) are used. It is simultaneously a
monograph and a manifesto that expresses the essence of the studios output over its two
decades of work.
