be removed before welding the joint.
If tack welds are to be incorporated into the final root pass weld and are
made with a different process or electrode than the root pass, then the SAES-W-017,

REMARKS:
NOTES: 1) Two passes (low-hydrogen) in "critical zone" on floor plate welds are welded & extend to a drawing specified length* BEFORE
shell installation occurs. Responsible Engineering shall specify a minimum 18" length for two passes in critical zone (3 ft min recommended)
before running any single pass E-7024 Jet rod. Full penetration welds on annular ring welds are specified. Note sequence of welding & code reqmts.
COMPLETE WELDING & CRITICAL NDT (RT) OF ANY ANNULAR PLATES SPLICED "BEFORE" SHELL INSTALLATION IS STARTED.
API 650. Par. 7.2.2.2 - Welding of the shell to the bottom shall be practically completed (and accepted) before welding of bottom joints that
may have been left open to compensate for shrinkage of any welds previously made is completed. Welding Sequence is critical for Tanks
NOTE 2: Weld Pick-up shall be performed/accepted while access exists. Contractor shall issue RFI for timely Inspection based on access &
level by level (Course by Course) clearance. Any bypass of this "failure to provide access" SHALL be cause for Contractor rework.
