Before the Pre placement talk, some questions that were asked by the Deloitte team were :

What does Deloitte do?


What do you know about the consulting footprint of Deloitte in India?

They then progressed with the PPT explaining the duties and responsibilities for the role in detail.

GD:
The topic for GD was common for all groups. GDs were conducted simultaneously for all groups.

Topic:

A company operating in the United States in the High End Retail Chain segment (limited to clothing) has over 200
outlets all over the United States. It has an annual turnover of $2 billion. It experienced very high profitability during
the years 2006-08. However with the recession in 2009, there was a stark reduction in its profitability which was
even below its competitors.

a) What are the factors behind its drop in profitability?


b) Provide an overview of change in consumer behaviour/perception during this period
c) Provide appropriate recommendations

Feedback provided post presentations to the teams:

The presentation needed more structure and form


Greater focus on financial aspects
Answers need to be less general and more specific
Candidate talking about a particular point should be able to answer any related questions.
