FUTURE TRENDS IN ANIMAL BREEDING DUE TO NEW GENETIC
TECHNOLOGIES

Today remains a myth and continuous source of study the origin of species,
especially for breeding animals; where one of the main precursors of the theory of
evolution by natural selection was Darwin; Natural selection could be seen as
playback units capable of replication, through a phenomenon of evolution which is
defined as the differential reproduction of genotypes of a biological population. It
can also be established under the conditions of an environment act for
reproduction of living organisms.
Darwin was taken as unknown these 3 principles in order to carry about an
investigation into the future offspring of animals:

a. Variation (individuals differ from each other or another for particular

characteristics)
b. Heredity (related individuals are more similar than unrelated individuals)
c. Natural Selection (individuals with different characteristics in theory, survive and
leave offspring to next generation).

Variation

In addition to the mutation and recombination as sources of genetic variation, there

are two new forms such as:
the copy number variation (CNV): corresponds to differences in copy number
between two genomes of a portion of DNA
microRNA: they are RNA molecules and their function is to regulate gene
expression

Inheritance

The heritability refers to the percentage of quantitative characteristics and

cualitaticvas that can be tranasmitidas in the genes, it is assumed that 50 DelPadre
and mother percent inherited but must be encuenta not always features will be
transmitted as it comes into play participaciuon of previous generations, besides
these characteristics over time they may be affected by mutations either by human
intervention or action of agri-environmental characteristics

natural selection

Regarding the selection must emphasize the importance of selection in social traits
and how this could contribute to improved productivity and animal welfare.

we must not forget that apart from seeking productivity breeds or lines created
animal welfare and the welfare of those who consume the product in addition to the
environment in which they occur also must always be present.
